Broke my leg on the 3rd lap of the fun day on the 4th in one of those rutted corners before the first woods. Caught it in a rut, didn't even crash and managed to get the bike to the side of the track. Got to say Alwyn, Dave & Tom were brilliant and so were the ambulance crew. Tib in 4 places, Fib in one, 1 Titanium pin and 12 weeks off the WR. Back for Meiford hopefully. Will get that Mamble 6 hr done one day.
Think I saw the aftermath of that crash with all the ppl attending to you...was it just before going into the small first woods.? Hope u have a speedy recovery....Meifod might be a bit optimistic judging by some of my previous injury recovery times
Thanks for posting these Guy, i wish i could have done this event this year as it was on the list. Unfortunately I'm laid up with a broken leg but hope to do the over 50 WOR event at Meiford end of july. Your videos just make it look great fun!
No prob.....Meifod is a good venue nice and flowing with lots of ups and downs. You'll hooked afterwards although the aches and pains on the day after are downer
Its a completely different experince today on the 6hr.....woods are soft but st least you can stand on the pegs and ride in a straight line Hope I'm still riding at 71...respect to you

Such an amazing guy it was… IS a pleasure of knowing him. So kind and a top bloke with his bikes. Spent some time in that shop growing up listening to his stories. He will be missed RiP Alec ❤
great video, you were on it. shame the gopro flattens the hills and descents out! today was the first time i had been there in the dry and the grip was amazing compared to previous times i had been there in the wet.
@@johnquinn6764 Coney green in Stourport is a 3hr drive from tong (been to tong a few times to watch fast eddy extreme),....dont think i would drive 3hrs to ride at coney green but as i live 15mins away its my local venue
Fair play you've got some good pace! Can I ask what class you would enter if you did a WOR race? I was a spectator at the event this year but now I've bought a bike I really hope they run there again in 2023, best course I've ever seen, so much single track.
@@vanontherun2843 I was sportsman (vets B) / over40's B levvel before where iuse to get a few podiums...never won the class though as there tends to be a few sandbagging trophy hunters who should be in class above but never move up
Yes it is, in fact they prioritise beginners. One of the rules of the venue is that riders have to give way to beginners and any aggression towards them by faster riders results in them being asked to leave
bridgestone are the same had a faulty rear half round full tread othere bold no refund told them i was going to put it back on bike. they told me not too. still got tyre show it to every one. i never bought a bridgestone ever again. tyre was on a new triump tiger 800xcx.

Its a 250F (Yam) and ideal for a sportsman as the power delivery is really smooth and linear, but it will get a move on if you rev it but its equally happy at lower revs using the torque
