Oh I'll miss your BCBA vlogs but I'll keep watching whatever you upload! stay strong, it always gets better, but I feel you on there's 'always something new' to worry about. you got this.
So sorry to hear you’re in an emotional slump. 😔 But I’m happy to hear that you are trying to take care of yourself, that’s good. Hope that your stress level reduces soon❤. Also congrats on the new apartment and your nails turned out so pretty!
also as someone who lives in South Florida. I always recommend doing activities and going to restaurants in Fort Lauderdale over Miami. It isn’t as busy , better customer service, a bit more inclusive and better experiences overall.
Love ur videos! Im training to be a BCBA . I been shadowing so far ! Pleasee keep posting! Im so sorry for ur experience! I been going through it sooo much in this field. The BLATANT racism is immeasureable! They be so shocked with me being in TWO grad programs and a UCLA graduate. Accruing hours has had me emotionally defeated because noone wanted to support me up until this yearrr Dont let negativeity stop u! U are AMAZING
Hi I just relise the college I’m going to dosent offer a “applied behavior analysis” degree program. To become a bcba would it be best to do get my masters degree in psychology or is there something else I should look into human development/family studies or maybe special ed general?
I would double check the BACB requirements but I believe they accept most master degrees in the psych/social work field as long as you have also taken ABA course work. A lot of schools like FIT offer the ABA coursework separate from the degree.
As a student who graduated with a diploma in developmental disabilities and is now doing behavioural psychology (aba focused) and is planning on doing the masters do you think getting your RBT certification helped you experience wise when you first got the job with the woman who had the start up clinic? I’m wondering if I getting my rbt certification is worth it prior to getting my bcaba and bcba
I think having experience in the field in general helps coming in as a brand new bcba. School can't give you the same experience that actually being in the field does, so yes, I think working as an RBT did a lot for me. It'll help you collect your hours too!
Hey Erin, I recently applied to Ball State. I applied for both a masters in ABA and a masters in Special Education with an ABA concentration. Do you know if the second option is verified to test with the BACB board to become a BCBA?
You’d have to check that the courses in the ABA concentration matched the required courses from the BACB. Your advisor should be able to tell you if they are applicable, if you’re not sure!
Following you! I’m an RBT, I took some time off after I had my son and I just enrolled for my bachelor’s in Applied Behavior Analysis 🎉 I’m ready to keep learning! 😊
Super helpful! Thank you for sharing this information, I appreciate the honesty and would love to hear about your journey becoming an independent BCBA. I’m on my second career and am interested in getting into this field. I was researching different jobs as a BCBA and I saw all of them required supervising others, which is something I have never really aspired to do so hearing about your journey to becoming independent would for sure be helpful!
I love your transparency! I'm currently in my master's program and an RBT, and I want to become a BCBA. However, I love the realness in your videos and how you discuss ABA.
@@ErinLark That’s awful, I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’m really hoping I don’t have a bad experience because I’ve been looking forward to joining the field.
Hi Erin. I want to thank you for taking the time to answering all my questions. I truly appreciate you. Again, your videos are always on point and aspiring.
Hiiiii I was a RBT accruing hours while watching your previous videos but now I became a BCBA and LBA in my state. You are a major support ❤. And 25? Go girl! I am 28 lol. You are a boss.
Giiiirl I have experienced that as well as a black woman, long locs , professional and have had people try to dismiss me or belittle me or not acknowledge me just based on what I look like. However once I start talking then they change their tune (sometimes) Also, kudos to you having accomplished all of the things you have and at such a young age! Continue to be comfortable in your own skin. People feel inferior to you and that’s ALLLL on them and nothing to do with you. So proud of you young sis!👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
