Congrats on the new house! Great potential. Exciting times ahead. I would clean everything up, new paint and decor and I would update the tiles in kitchen and add new kitchen handles. The kitchen is in good working order. Finally I would dress the house up. Keep to a tight budget. You may find you have added some equity in a years time by being sensible on jobs and spending.
Keep the shutters!!! TBH the top room seems ideal as a master because.. less close to noise but you will need a ring doorbell cause so far from the front door . Congratulations on the bargain home 🎉🎉🎉🎉

We did consider this, but that room will likely become a nursery in the next couple of years so we thought it would just make more sense logistically as an office is a bit easier to change
