R3ciprocity helps students, faculty, and research folk by providing a real and authentic look into doing research. It provides solutions and hope to researchers around the world.
This RU-vid page is designed to be helpful for you. You are welcome to comment. However, personal attacks, being rude, hate content, or otherwise being an 'internet troll' is not. Life is too short for that. Positivity is great. Negativity is not. These types of negative and hurtful comments will be deleted.
Note that if I don't respond, it is not that I don't appreciate your help. You are awesome! I have to prioritize my time.
Yes sometimes it helps to just remind yourself that what we are going through is part of the process and we are not supposed to blame ourselves for not having everything figured out already, pretty much everybody at some point have to deal with that uncertain exploration where we don't know where the heck are we going still we gather the strength to move with the journey
I was most encouraged by one of your videos on "going back to school in your 30s/40s" and I am glad I watched that video as I found someone who shared my thoughts. Regardless of what you do with your project, I wish you good health (it is all that matters) and please continue to share your work
Thanks for the video, David! Indeed, if you want not just to implement an idea, but also to make money, then R&D is a must-have for you. At JetSoftPro, a software development service, we see how quickly the market changes and how dangerous it is to do things based only on hypotheses.
DBAs are for the real world CEOs, C-Suite, Directors and the like, but can also work within an academic/classroom setting .... PhDs are solely for the academic/classroom settings.
Dr Maslach, I have been following you with different YT accounts. I feel you are so related to me as a PhD student struggling in my program. I think your biggest value to me is acamedic advice content creator. I will still follow you if you are not building your project. And I agree that with the new AI techs, it hard to continue with your project. (It is not a shame at all). I would hope if you can 1) share more academic advice to PhD student on multiple platforms, there are crowds of PhD students watch you as mental support. You don't know how much you have helped them (including me) by just talking to a cam. 2) share your insights on your research domain, As a business grad student, I am interested in researches about business and management. Last, YOU are the biggest product that your created, it is the biggest brand I know.
As a fellow academic I agree and this RU-vid channel and now podcast has been very enlightening and motivating for me. I think of reciprocity as somewhat similar to an organization we use called Hanover which is funded by our research office. Not sure if that helps
Yes many states have speed limits that exceed 65mph. Texas has a road that allows you to travel at 85mph. Passing every vehicle on the road makes you and your girl feel really good.
Deep stuff, man. Appreciate it, Professor. What you mention in this video is exactly what I've heard from other PhDs. The reality of the daily slog to finish a degree of this level.
I like the word' that you used " isolated" . I have been isolated for 3 years now. I felt that no one could understand what I was going through. At the end, I realized that I 've been a giving person for everyobody untill I was stuck in this programm, I did not find any nice gestures. Research is a walk alone journey, my supervisor always says: " I throw you to the sea and let you know how to swim. Then, it is up to you to learn how to swim or drown"
Thanks Mate, you did help me get over some underlying Stress. A bit about me I am Sunil Tourani from India 🇮🇳 Wanted to do my Masters and Ph.D. in Pharma Research in Germany 🇩🇪 But realised its financially not worth it, dropped the Dream and working towards building a career in Finance where just a Masters degree will be enough for me !!
I am retiring from the Marine Corps this year and have not paid a dollar for my masters degree and below. I plan to do my DBA, I want to prove to myself I can do it and it will be the only degree I will have to pay for
I am always picked last despite being better than many people in sport. I think that it's not just about if you're good or not, but rather if you're normal/not awkward
I just wanted to thank you for all your videos and advice. I was invited to an interview along with 62 other applicants, and I'm thrilled to share that I was selected as one of the final 5 candidates. After a nerve-wracking 3-month wait, I received the news that I was unfortunately the third choice for just two positions. However, unexpectedly, one of the selected candidates declined the offer, and I was subsequently offered the position! I AM REALLY EXCITED! This outcome was sooooo unexpected after I had already come to terms with a negative answer...
If I have a lot of these signs, especially the last one where my advisors would not be happy with my amount of output, would not doing a PhD BUT still doing academic research AND doing it in another field I find purpose in be conducive of success, or am I entirely not cut out for research, no matter the field?
