I don’t have that sensor connection, I have the same old Starter you removed. I have a 2006 Century. What do you recommend for the new Starter as to figuring out the wire plug situation
I have a 12.7 detroit 60 series and when It's a columbia 2012. I have intermittent idle issues. It will sometimes loop at start up but most of the time the engine will start looping at idle but when you press the pedal it stops and then it does not happen again until the truck is shut off and started the next day. We changed the TPS, software, ecm, truck had a complete inframe overhaul about 30,000 miles. I have taken it to multiple mechanics and they have not found the issue. They have hooked up to the computer and still not able to find anything. Your thoughts???
Thanks for the motivation. I think I can do it. I think mine needs to be replaced soon. Sometimes I have to try a couple of times to make it start. Can’t really describe the sounds it make at times before it starts but it doesn’t sound good.
I hear ya man I’ve got an issue with mine now but it’s leaking from the back bottom bolt near the side of the engine and the crappy part is the pump has only been on the truck for about two and a half years since my engine was rebuilt.
Delco Remy is the best for Detroit series 60. in my 92 Pet last more than 12years. I voluntary replaced because can sleep thinking about starter, sometimes I have nightmare starting the truck lol
The bolts that you were hand wrenching , use a double box end wrench and pull with a fifth wheel release pull handle . Plastic bed liners are often thrown away , grab one and cut the floor out of it . Makes a nice 4’ X 8’ sheet to lay on .
I have a borg warner with wastegate and with egr delete and reprogrammed 500 hp. 14l detroit. Should i get better mog or should i tune it down 455 hp for hetter mpg's
Vibration issues : Tires out of balance Worn wheel hubs Suspension ride height U - joints / carrier bearing Loose axle u-bolts Fifth wheel placement Chinese brake drums Driveline yokes out of time Suspension bushings Floorboard vibration , rear of truck . Steering wheel vibration , front of truck . Possibly trailer conditions . Truck frame ride height is even across drive tires .
I wish I would have watched this a few weeks ago. I had to pull off a set of Budd wheels that hadn't been off in 30-40 years. My 1" impact suffered greatly. Needed a few days of heat and penetrating fluid to get them to budge.
I drove an ex Fed Ex Freightliner Columbia 😂 if that makes sense. It came with a muffler factory, but it was so old and hollow…it sounded a lil deeper than stock. Then the truck got really loud when we replaced the muffler with about a 5ft piece of pipe
