london seriously, sucks, I was there in December and i constantly had to watch over my backs and sides, worrying someone is going to stab or rob me. Weather is horrible. Food is crappy in central london. The central london is surrounded by muslim towns, especially in the west side. There are nice spots in london of cos, but overall i would not move there. It's unsafe and expensive. Asia is much better.
Thank you for being our guide in London, Candace. It has changed quite a bit since my last visit there before Brexit. Well, maybe London hasn't changed as much as other cities and towns in England. Like you, I have a difficult time living in places that start getting dark at 5 PM (1700) as in London beginning in late autumn. Barcelona, Tokyo, Kyoto, the south of France or Valencia or Tuscany could be options you might wish to explore. I have chosen Madeira Islands as my refuge from the winter blues and cold, but I believe you prefer residing in metropolitan locales. Japan and Italy have such amazing food too as of course so does Hong Kong. Or maybe even Sydney or Melbourne? But for me, Paris and Rome are my favorite big cities, especially Paris as I studied cinema there.
Candy is too well-bred, and thus too diplomatic, to be critical of obvious problems existing in old North Sea Island & European cities. Yes, they're becoming very expensive, but they're also getting very rundown, crowded---and dangerous---even for affluent folk like Candy. I think southern-coastal Spain is great for weather and safety, but Candy wants culture too. Vancouver is great for culture, safety, and thus many well-bred Chinese live there. But Candy wants mild weather. So maybe Buenos Aires, Argentina (now with Milei); Santiago, Chile; or Perth, Australia---all have culture, safety, and mild year-round weather.
There are a lot of us out here with you. People in transitory state with ability to adventure to our next destination. Exciting times. Thanks for info.
