Hi I'm Scott, a middle age (50) adventure rider based in Brisbane Australia. My passion in life in recent years is Motorcycle Adventuring. I enjoy riding gnarly bush tracks and exploring all around Australia. I hope to one day tour other parts of the world too.
There are a few reasons I am making these videos. Firstly I enjoy watching others doing the adventures in their countries and I like the idea of contributing. Secondly I'm a late bloomer to off-road adv riding and I might only have 10 to 15 years left of being able to manage it, having already had heart surgery twice and two significant back injuries. These videos I think will be great to have in old age to help me relive the excitement.
I'm not the most skilled off road rider but am having fun learning. My many injuries and health troubles slow me down a bit, but this shows that it's still possible to get out and have fun and ride at your own pace.
Yes, crocs are not at the start of the creb. Farmer called River will tell you the same thing and he is based there. Too much activity for crocs. Why has there never been any photos of crocs at the creb crossing. 112 adult crocs in the daintree River today and you will find all of them from the bridge between daintree Town and the creb and right out to the river mouth. Just name a few ... scar face ... lizzy... rozzy ... lippy ... any crocs that comes in from out side the river morally gets chased out by scar face. This is local and common knowledge. Daintree river is croc infested ..... not the creb track or the creb crossing.
Great Vid mate. Coming over from WA to do it in just over a week. I reckon it was better than Brents (or Brett as you call him :) ) You vid really gave a good insight into the terrain.
Thanks Andy. I'll be going back in July with a group of 11 others. We'll do this again and all the other iconic tracks. I'll be on a more suitable bike this time. KTM 690 or 890. I hope you enjoy yourself! let me know how you go.
Great Movie Mate, so glad it was you and not me, I watched Simo and crew do it in reverse and came over here after he left directions to your channel. I'm not sure I even want to contemplate this world of pain, it's in my back yard too, I may hike 8t and see... thanks for the entertainment!
I ve got dominator P7 for my bmw r1200 gs it arrives in 1 week😍lets see how is it. I was thinking about Storm too but the finish and size of the new dominator honestly liked me better than storm, but yours sounds awesomee,🔥
Great vid, great ride. So, how do you compare the 901 to the 660? Looking for a good, solid off-road tourer with some dirt cred and I really like the look of the Norden! You don't see any head-to-head comparo's between the Norden and Tuareg. For long distance which would you prefer?
Hi Andrew, The 901 has longer legs and would make for a better long distance tourer. Both the Tuareg and the Norten are very capable off road, but the Tuareg seems easier to pick up. Personally I thing the Expedition is the nicer looking bike!
@@ManBikeSwag I did see that. Great idea. But my friend n I are broke newbies (50yo)with dodgy old bikes.😂. 3 day cheap n cheerful. Any tracks that are must do you can recommend. Mt Samuel looks tough
@benjohnson7170 Mt Samuel is the cream of the crop. If you only have 3 days you'll have limited time. Sky trek is good but $50 per bike for a 40km ride
You'll love it. It's so addictive! I'm putting together a 2 week tag-a-long ride in Late July to Cameron's corner and into the Strzelecki desert on to The flinders rangers for 7 days riding before returning home via Broken Hill and Tibooburra. There will be about 10 of us and looking at charging $650 per head if you'd like to jump onto it.
Another awesome ride video mate. Your 690 must have huge range with the big front tank, do you really notice the weight when the front tank is full. I'm seriously considering a 690 or 701 to replace my DR 650. Cheers for sharing 🍻
Yes I get 500kms range with this set-up. I brought the bike all setup but it's still the lightest bike I've owned until the 501. I do try not to fill up on smaller ride so it's easier to pick up. But if I have a big crossing to do I know I'll have the range. The 690 was a game changer for me! You'll never look back if you upgrade the DR650.
The Norden was a bike in would have liked to consider when I bought my V85TT. The Norden was just beyond my budget.. But the V85 is a character. A classic case of following an eejit down a route and they get you in the shit.. 🤣🤣 Nothing like being out in the middle of nowhere and needing a Dump.. And you have no toilet paper... Good job nobody was around too see me sliding down each grass mound trying to clean myself. 😂😂😂 #note too self.. ALWAYS bring paper 👌🏼 #subbed
@@ManBikeSwag thanks for the prompt response - much appreciated! Do you know what Chris didn't like about the Cross pro? Will defo check out the link you provided. Great work - ride safe
What a hectic ride mate. Fckn hell that looked slick It was suprising how well the 901 handled it. It must have been tough going on the bigger bike or do you think the slip control settings would help a bit? Cheers for sharing 🍻
Looks like a great place to ride. However you need to KEEP LEFT if another bike or car came round some of those corners you and /or them would be toast. Remember there are others out there.
Did Mount Buggery a couple of weeks back. That steep bit was pretty rutted out and then a few k later there was 'road works' where they had butchered the road and slid down the whole section after some rain till the road closed sign. Was hectic indeed!
Why is it that when I side stand switch does what it’s designed to do some says “I don’t know”? It’s a known issue….. relocate the switch or buy a bypass dongle. All you need to do was tape the two haves of the switch together and re route it up under your seat.
