The mecha set looks ugly, yet I still bought it because I am a fan of Gundam. This game is going into shit, and I can't wait till it fumbles. I quit building because it's buggy as hell. I can't make fanmade content without my room disappearing. Or even original content when the game decides to kick you outta the room. And most of my content will probably get taken down. Im fine with that since they aren't that good. Despite everything this game has turned mid. Before then, it was alright, and I actually enjoyed getting on. Even then, I'll probably consider quitting.
I'm amazed I this popped up on my fyp a year later. I've never wanted to genuinely watch a rec room video all the way through until I saw this. It's baffling how everything mentioned in this video still stands in todays state of rec room. I haven't had that same spark as I had back in 2018. Although I wasn't around throughout all of 2018, I still got to enjoy it's last moments and had an amazing time making friends and having fun playing games. But now most of them are gone and I'm still stuck on the game. It's just seriously disappointing how much the game has downgraded. I've yapped enough. amazing video!
Even though this video is over a year old now I still think this sums up everything that is still wrong with the game today, but everything has gotten a lot worse. The weekly challenges are gone, the game optimization gets worse, and bugs like the double shot that nobody asked to get removed gets nicked even though people have been asking for other bugs to be fixed. This was a hell of a video with a lot of effort and it shows that people in the community want the game to be good again but they just aren’t willing to listen or put in the effort.
One thing rec room did right in the past few years is definitely cv2, and most bugs have to do with their new maker pen ui and it’s very fun to build things.
BROOOOOO how did I find this video so late this is genuinely the greatest rec room video I've seen this is genuinely a masterpiece (also it's mad 99% of what you said holds up in 2024💀💀)
This video is something else. After watching for a few minutes, I realised that this was like I was watching a Scott The Woz video and that's what made me like it more and continuing watching it. Rec Room hasn't been the best nowadays. In fact, it's gotten worse since this video came out with Ignited games and the RR representation of greed, Taconic. This is the type of videos I like and wish there were more like this style

Yeah there has been a MASSIVE issue with all gizmos, CV1 and CV2, they have been recently breaking constantly and anything animated clamped onto something just... breaks. One of my rooms had all its pistons unwired just because rec room wanted it to Either way, outstanding job.
I wanted to avoid holotars as much as posible throughout the project as I think they are inferior to acting everyone separately and green screening it. Sure it may be more work in post, but I find it easier than dealing with holotars. Holotars cannot hold objects, wear costumes, interact with their environment, or use facial expressions. They are harder to get timing correct, and tend to desync between multiple people. The desync alone is a big issue as the recording method I used (alt account on screen mode) caused a desync for a shot that I didn’t notice until I went to edit, and I had to redo that shot.
