I've been all over and seen so many players you would never guess were great til they get a chance to cut loose.I didn't like the album he did with ozzie. I like him better playing his stuff, look up he and Steve Stevens jamming, Stevens was borrowing his gear just in case cause his hadn't showed up great jam
I clicked on this preparing to cringe. This song distinguishes major a divide between Jason and his Dad. As where Jason often uses a click track and is controlled, his Dad was free-flowing and took chances in the moment. Jason is staying pretty close to the studio version. Smart of him. Just like with "For Your Life," at the 02. If he tries to replicate his Dad's live drumming free-flow the results get muddled.
I think gus could have done alot better, doesn't mean his solo wasnt very cool and he isnt a fantastic player, both those things are true, however I just think he couldve been a bit more creative.
