There were a few inaccuracies in the labeling of the James M Dennis' image. He was listed as a Corporal, but was clearly wearing Sergeant's chevrons. He was also noted as serving in the 16th Infantry of an unnamed State, but his chevrons were colorized yellow, which would designate him as Cavalry. The trim color for Infantry was a light blue. Otherwise, this was an amazing presentation. I look forward to hopefully seeing more of your work.
What a handsome young man.Mind you when we are young and in good health most of us do have good looks.Even for me it was so.Sad that the years changed that with me.
You know, I have been detecting for over 36 years. I find buttons and relics along a military road here in Texas. The it's that were lost and that I can tie to the Buffalo soldiers from San Angelo, Fort Concho, I have the utmost respect for. They were given the worst of everything and I can hold things in my hand to prove it. If I had one wish, it would be to sat down, eat and just listen.
what really is sad. seeing people in the past living and dying. trying their best. they had no idea of the future. thats what all people have in common. none of us asked to be born.
