Well said mate. I’ll do you one further and say there are such things as bad practice habbits bc it’s taking time away from what you should be focusing on. I Give my athletes percentages of time they should spend and shots from outside of 18 are 5 percent of their time. And even that’s a stretch.
Joner thank you very much mate. I’m a 19 year old who’s been out of a team for a bit and I’ve fell into the trap of just taking free kicks and my dribbling ability & finishing in the box has took a hit. With this vid though I’m gonna start doing some proper drills in my next session 👍 Maybe a vid on individual drills in the box?
Great video, I have been struggling to find a video on what basic fundamentals makes a good football player and what are the most important fundamentals a youth player must have. Thank you for the content.
He has a part of the goal that he goes to the most, like it looks like he practiced to finishing there the most, so he's way more confident to shoot there

I coach young children, so sick of the penalty-kick culture that kids all default to. None of them can dribble, none of them can turn or ever check their shoulder. But they all practice taking free kicks
Thank you for this content from Germany ⚽ absolutely right. But a few things about Henry striking in the video. 1. The keeper game changed the last 10 years a lot. They play better with their angel. 2. Low corner perfect if the distance to the keeper isn't to short. Because the angel. 3. I teach my kid's (especially the strikers) the Keeper zones and how Keepers are trained. Because every zone has their weak points. Maybe you understand what I mean. Please tell me when you think this is shit 😂 but I think understanding what Keeper zones are can help a striker to find the right angle and high of shot
hello, I'm 8 years old and I really like your channel. Can you tell me what the most important training courses are for me so that I can become very good? the most important points that I need to train to become very good because there are so many videos on youtube but I get confused, maybe you have a whole training with the most important points thank you very much
Awesome! I train my u9-u12 this way. I put 2 pugs in each corner of the goal and only pug goals count. Players not always thrilled but makes them shoot with accuracy!!!
I coach youth. The biggest pet peeve I have is when players turn up before a session or game, stick a ball down outside the box, and just smash it at the goal. They want to shoot and you can't stop it, so I stick cones down. They have to at least dribble past a stationary object first to get some sense of game realism.
This is why I use the Joner Football App every day when training my girls. I’ve now used it for 13 months. The training doesn’t need to be flashy … it just needs to be consistent, purposeful & with intensity. Thanks Lee!!
I've been coaching since 2000. The sweeper system was still being used(crazy). I'm seeing so many new coaches teaching young players the hot new trends. But those trends DO NOT translate to the field. I only train fundamentals. Because I feel a player can pick up fancy play with time and experience.
