This is a TIP for you and your followers . SET UP YOUR PROJECT AS NORMAL WITH WASTE YARN. # NOW KNIT ONE ROW ONLY WITH CONTRAST CROCHET COTTON. (ONE ROW ONLY) # KNIT YOUR MAIN YARN FOR PROJECT. # NOW KNIT ONE ROW ONLY WITH CONTRAST CROCHET YARN. AND DO 6/8 rows WASTE YARN ( CONTRAST COLOUR) NOTE TAKE YOUR PROJECT OFF AND WHEN YOU HAVE IT ENDED OFF. ### JUST PULL OUT THE CROCHET COTTON, NOW YOU HAVE IT SEPERATED. YOU ALSO CAN WIND UP THE WASTE YARN, AND USE IT AGAIN. ALSO THE CROCHET COTTON FOR RE USE. DISCARD WHEN AND IF THE YARN RAVELS. ANOTHER TIP IF I MAY. WHEN I KNIT A PROJECT AS PER THIS METHOD. ##I HAVE MY PROJECT ON THE MACHINE I'D KNIT ONE ROW CONTRAST COTTON YARN. I WOULD LEAVE WASTE YARN OF 6/8 ROWS AND THE CROCHET COTTON ONE ROW FOR NEXT PROJECT. YOUR KNITTERS WILL UNDERSTAND ALL THIS ONCE THEY TRY IT OUT. IF YOU ARE A HAT KNITTER, YOU COULD DO A FEW AND SIT BACK AND FINISH OFF LATER. NOTE YOU WOULD HAVE 3 SEPERATE ROWS PF CROCHET COTTON. JUST PULL OUT THE CENTRE ONE TO DIVIDE YOUR PROJECT.!!! FROM AN 81 yr OLD CRAFTER. THANKS FOR TO DAYS TIPS.
I have had 2 different Addi Eggs and cannot get them to twist. The first one broke and Addi sent me another one. It skips stitches like crazy. The yarn doesn’t slide on the needle like it should. Also the crank handle falls off all the time. I really want it to work. I’ve tried all the yarns I put in the 5 other knitting machines I have and it still doesn’t work like this. I am open to suggestions.
Unfortunately, to do the same method, you'd have to crochet. You would just have to learn the basics like single crochet and slip stitch. You can probably find a way to use your tail and needle to weave it in a certain way to give it a nice finish too.
Sorry for the delay. You can order the hook and yarn from the links below: www.angieandbritt.com/yarn/malabrigo/malabrigo-rasta www.angieandbritt.com/fibertools/p/us19-16in
Hi there. Hmm... you could certainly tweak it to work for handknitting. I unfortunately don't have anything written out, though I am sure it would be fairly easy. And no, I don't have a pattern for 12 months. If you tweak it to do handknitting, I am sure a few more cast on stitches and rows would give you a slightly bigger bonnet.
This one is so frustrating for me, and I just broke a needle :( ! I love your tutorial though, thanks for the time you put into it. I'm hoping that once I get the replacement needles to try again maybe with other yarns, not sure why mine isn't being very nice
So an easy way I've found to remove the waste yarn is put a single row of another yarn between the waste and the main yarn. That way you only have to pull out the one string of yarn and the waste separates in one piece
Thanks for this! I’ve been debating on getting the egg for a while and was worried because I had tried another brand for a similar purpose, but it was so confusing. Your tutorial makes it seem more straightforward and simpler than I thought it would be.
Just received the addi 46 and 22. Thank you for your tutorial. I read so many awful reviews on the Addi egg. I must say, your tutorial is the BEST WELL EXPLAINED TUTORIAL I’ve viewed by far. I’m convinced I will purchase an Addi egg very soon.
Any idea how many rows you would knit for an adult size bonnet? Would I need to make two panels then sew them together using the mattress stitch maybe?
OK this is one of the most awesome videos I’ve ever seen! I watched one other video of the egg and this one blows it out of the water! I’ve been subscribed for sometime. I’ve seen your online store and I am going to start an Etsy shop for my crochet items! You may have a new customer if I can’t figure out my stamping situation😊
