This conversation has gone on for two years...we all get that kind of after burn grinding sound/ vibration on the same model...read a statement on a forum where a guy thinks hes found the problem...a mount on the rear fender no less...hopes its true...could make sense since vibration from the motor could effect any metal on metal parts. All we really need to know is it going to effect the motor or power in the long run if its the motor or the way its mounted. Its because we love the bikes and we dont want to think that this grinding sound is damaging something....the point has to be made that ive seen nothing about the bike failing as a result and people have found no internal damage to motor when they take it apart. Good luck everyone !!!!
Well Kevin that Really sounds like a separate issue all together and lumping it in with what is most definitely an internal engine problem and is most definitely causing internal damage to the motor. It would seem out of place to be posting something that is relative and minor as a sound created by vibration. This is not what we’re doing with here. This is a systematic noise that happens at the exact particular time at the motor is under an exact amount of particular stress And the noises that are caused by. Or simply vibration caused by something attached to the bike. It would not consistently doing it at a consistence mean during the same consistent situation. . So sorry all attempts, including this now the third one within the comments, will not be side stepping the issue. Nor misdirect Ing it to something that has no relevancy. For over two years, this internal noise is a representation of poor quality control , and furthermore, an outright attempt to push away. Ignore this all to prevalent issue. And if we’re gonna make an assumption , then that assumption would be that there is an electronic governor that is causing this issue.
Is the sun. We reached the manual settings through trial and error, so, instead of suggesting the static settings, here is our suggestion. Set the camera for time lapse video. make sure that the log (color settings) function is on. Then put the camera into auto mode. Take a note of what settings the camera automatically set, This is the general range that will be working with. Keep in mind, our goal is still at the darkness fall off and not to let the camera change the exposure via the ISO to keep the scene lit. Always seems to yield results.. Without having the settings for that particular capture in front of me now, I assume that we have the ISO locked at between 200 and 500, The FPS on the time lapse mode is only 30 so the shutter would’ve been locked off at 60 , And most importantly, we use the 8k time lapse on the X3 to get an 8k resolution render. Also, we tend to use the log format to maximize dynamic range.

We feel that there is an electric governor that is not programmed correctly, that is causing the grinding sound. Lectric customer service won’t even acknowledge that there is a problem .
