Welcome to my channel for anything and everything. I'll be doing reviews of games, movies, TV shows, comic books, talking about life, upcoming projects, etc. If there's something you would like for me to review or talk about, by all means, drop me a line on my Instagram/Twitter or X/Threads/Bluesky pages, marissa_anne04
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your heart and being vulnerable. I know it can't possibly be easy as the spouse because you are affected by all the change, but not at the helm of it so to speak. I especially like the part where you talk about examining yourself for your demons and prejudices and working through those. That is so important, and even admitting that you have them is just the realest thing. It's hard for all of us to admit those, but a sign of true character to do so and work on it. I'm so proud to call you guys my friends!
Randomly got this recommended to me by the youtube algorithm - I just have to say that Chrysanthemum is such a freaking nice name, if I got to pick my own name I'd have picked that in a heartbeat, I LOVE it.
I did GIS for years so was initially very confused by the lack of digital mapping services and the plethora of “Gaaayyyyyysssss innnnnn Spaaaaaaaaace” references … quite the roller coaster ride while my mind try to catch up to what was going on. Hoping you have tons of fun and bring back a video or two of good times!
Like those stickers. Cool merchandise. Voyager is actually my favorite of all the Star Trek series. The characters were definitely the most developed of the franchise and there was an incredible sense of unity as the crew was always there for one another to find their way back to the Alpha quadrant.
Thank you for your question. I apologize for waiting to answer your question. Unfortunately, I can't give you an accurate answer. I've never played the game. I will be playing the campaign that is in the tricorder box first. Plus, I'm still reading the book. I do know you can play as a captain; but as far as jumping to higher play with a Defiant class ship, I'm not sure. You should direct this question to Jim Johnson. Here's his Twitter handle: @scribe_ineti
@@Marissa-Anne thank you for your response. I have sent Jim Johnson the same question on Twitter and his intake form. I will let you know if/when I get a response.
Your welcome. This series means a lot to me. It is a series that is still helping and comforting me til this day. It was hard for me to do this video. I had so much anxiety leading up to it but I did it anyway because someone needs to hear it. Someone needs to know they are loved and valued on this earth. I love Star Trek Voyager, my favorite character is The Doctor, Picardo is my favorite Star Trek actor, and Lifeline is my favorite episode.
Wanna hear a funny story about Robert Picardo? I went to the 2013 Star Trek Con in Vegas. First, I almost run over Jake Sisco, (who was smoking and not paying attention). Second, I happened to park next to Armin's car, (Quark). He was with his wife and he was really a nice guy. Third, when I finally got into the hotel, a little guy came rushing out of the bathroom and crashed right into me. Well, me being six foot, let's just say he was on the ground. So, I helped him up with a hand and low and behold, it's Robert Picardo in the flesh. We shot the shit for a few minutes and then I continued with my encounter with the folks of Star Trek. Even met Richard Hatch from Battlestar Galactica, was an awesome time. @@Marissa-Anne
If you go to the Shore Leave fan page and the Star Trek Voyager fan page it's posted there. I also posted it on my other Facebook page, Marissa's Journey to Wellness and Happiness.
Nice review! And that's some good advice to give the viewers about running the game as a game master. Familiarizing yourself with the material before you run it is definitely something to keep in mind for new GMs. This set is amazing, isn't it? I really love that it's wearable and goes well when traveling in uniform (as I've done). And the Kirk tunic green dice are spectacular. Really is a great set to get into the game, particularly if you're a fan of TOS. Just a little clarification on a couple of points: this rulebook IS the full rules, it's just in a digest-sized book. They cut out a lot of the fluff and images but that is the full rule set. In fact, it's a little more cleaned up from the original book based on what was added in the Klingon core book. Also, there hasn't been a Strange New Worlds supplement yet but Captain Pike is available as a character in the Discovery Season 2 character pack PDF. The "Strange New Worlds" book that is available for STA is a collection of adventures and just happens to share the same title with the Pike series. Looking forward to seeing your other videos! LLAP!
“Suicidal Ideation” was so normal for me that it took a very long time for me to realize that most folks evidently rarely, or even never, do it. It took so long to figure out this discrepancy because, like you so eloquently said in this video, suicide is something we don’t talk about … at least not, all to often, until it is too late. Really good video, Marissa-Anne. Some of the best advice given to me, in therapy, decades ago, was always have a plan and know when to engage it. They had us write down a response plan, identify the people (more than one) for us to reach out to when it is most needed, write down their names, their numbers, and talk with them ahead of time to make sure they know they are on that list so they know what’s up if that call ever comes in. They had us identify thought patterns and topics that would help us identify when we were in crisis because it is so weirdly difficult to see how bad the crisis is when you are in the heat of it. Always have the suicide prevention phone numbers readily accessible and never fear, or hesitate, to call. You are always worth the phone call. In my case I even came up with a script for exactly how I wanted to end things which, in my case, meant I had to drive to 600 foot tall ravine that was a five hour drive from where I lived. I did this so I would have plenty of time to think things over and just stop. This worked for me more than once which I’m very thankful for. From one stranger on the internet to another: I see you, I hear you, and I value you. Thank you for recording this video and putting it up on your channel. You’re paying forward in a profound way I believe the world is better for your efforts.
Excellent video. You're a very strong person. I've been stuck in that "very dark hole" in the past as well, very easy to fall into and very hard to climb out of. Hope more people see this video.
Hey its your Emotional Support Human checking in. Love the shout out and am so glad you had such an awesome time and look forward to seeing you there again next year.
