Forget the movies. The "Force" is actually a combination of gluons, glueballs, quantum fields, and projected consciousness, with the astral form able to manipulate bosons and gravitons. The Force is the field of "Zero Point Energy." Vibration of all through all. Just keep trying.

What worked for me is that I was never too much up under my parents ever since I was a teenager. I developed a reputation of doing my own thing (not disobeying my parents, mind u) away from & outside of them. When too much in ur parents' shadow, it gives them that upper hand & they start nagging you.

What if the performance discussion comes in the middle of nowhere when you already applied for another position in the company and you are going to have an interview? Now your manager decides to do PR with you before the interview.

My wife has a great resume, the qualifications and skill set to do the job in the career that she has been applying. The problem she has is she doesn’t do well in an interview setting. I’m not quite sure what goes on because I’m not there (obviously) but do you have a video or any advice on how she can sharpen her skills as the person being interviewed?

I had my 1st bad interview today. As soon as the hiring manager came on zoom and saw me, a look of disappointment spread across her face. (I am black btw) I knew she wasnt interested in hiring me on but I finished and did the best I could despite my nerves. The nail in the coffin was her telling me towards the end that she "still had other candidates to interview". Yep if thats not a clear brush off idk what is. Oh well Im gonna take a break from applying and just chill for a week or so. Good luck everyone and dont give up!

I just had a bad interview because my gpa was .1 away from what they wanted so I never got the chance to tell them my experience and I’ve even sold their products in the past and everything. I had a whole arsenal of experience and knowledge about their company but I never got pass 5 min. I get u want to weed people out but don’t invite someone to an interview just to tell them there number is to low and stupid for a position you’re more than qualified for…

What is the best way to answer those position-based interview questions (not job/profession-based)? Thanks.
@JJ_TheGreat
@JJ_TheGreat 4 месяца назад
6:49 For situational/behavioral questions, they might have got you with something that just was completely not on your radar... I try to come up with as many stories as I can, which cover as many topics as possible - but sometimes there will be a question which is outside your radar... For me, the most difficult type of questions to answer on an interview are the position-based (not job-based) type of questions - which relate specifically to that specific POSITION, rather than JOB-BASED questions which relate to your profession/job - which you can prepare, since you are likely to be asked that at any other interview for a job in order industry. I find it almost impossible to prepare for POSITION-BASED questions - since you don't work there and therefore, you do not know what is involved and relates to that position.
@JJ_TheGreat
@JJ_TheGreat 4 месяца назад
5:45 Question: Is it ok to ask the interviewer(s) if we can "circle back" to the question if you cannot think of anything at the time? I did this once and they did say at the end - "and now the question which you had deferred".

I disagree with some of the statements about Engineering Technicians. You can do pretty well with a 2-year degree. Its an uphill battle, sure, and its true you have to be okay with doing 'grunt work'. But at the same time you can earn up to six figs and be respected at your profession. The keys are to have real skills that get results. Also communication is huge. I get called "wizard" and things like that on the regular by Execs -- a great Technician is like the heart of the team -- its a good feeling.

there are so many choices and i only have one i can pick. i’m worried that art electives will be too easy since ive taken so many before, but i really love art and there’s no other class but beginner or AP which is overboard. i don’t know what else i should pick because i know i don’t have a lot of room for electives in the future as well :(

Hello nice to see you. Thanks for the words of encouragement and solution. However, my problem is complex. Meaning, I do want to work for the organization but sometimes is the lower cliques that deliberately do nepotism and/or do their own racist discrimination. The problem is that is subtle and complex meaning sometimes they deliberately harass. For example, Human Resources want these few managers to interview me but they do not as if they do not care about Diversity and Inclusion so their goal is to get me to forfeit my interview time-slot so they can cherry-pick from the candidates pool. So basically, I’m defending my slot from the initial interview offer all the way to the actual interview but yes at the interview they treat me like trash asking stupid and/or irrelevant questions. As if they do not under clear distinction of human capital and/or have their own agenda. Anyway, I’m just sick of tired of these racist corporate culture. But thanks for sharing. Hopefully, someone who can relate to this. And will be able to bounce back much faster and/or have a better strategy from when they emailed asking for an interview to the actual meeting.

If the company is genuinely racist, they are not a company you’d want to work with. That said, be sure that it’s indeed racism and not something else where you assumed racism.

That is correct nowadays upper management are ruled by people from Yakama, Guam, Yemen, Nepal, and Myanmar. Those people get 6 figure salary, bonuses, stock options, perks, a corporate credit card and more. They give White Europeans and/or Americans the mailroom jobs and even then it’s temporary with no health benefits and the graveyard shift with minimum wage. Is not what you know but who you know.

I just had an interview with a director of account management that felt like he wasn't too much of a peoples person. Literraly was reading off of some sort of guide. It felt as if he was gathering questions from Google. I did not feel good about this interview. I come to check on glassdoor and seems like most reviews for the position at this company are mostly negative. I consider myself to be a great candidate for the role; but it felt like there was lack of profesionalism coming from a director of business.

I just had a Zoom interview and she cut it so short. 😭 She literally asked one question about what I do in my current role. I gave a pretty medium to long answer. She didn't ask any follow-up questions. Then said she would talk with her co-worker, and it was over. I've never bombed an interview that bad.

I was recently interviewing a candidate for a position in my department and he did both of your examples. I asked for a specific example of his work experience and he kept it vague and general. Describing more of a daily experience than a specific time. And I did try and rephrase to elicit a more specific example. And then also when asked what attracted him to the position and the company he said he was “tired of being a contract worker” Which would be done if he elaborated with wanting more opportunities and room to grow. But he kept it at wanting to get out of being a contract worker. The twist is I knew the guy from an old job 6-7 years ago. And I think he could do the job, but it would be a very hard sell to my co-manager and our bosses based on his interview. And he’s up against dozens of other applicants.

Oh sorry to hear that. Mine was reversed I gave detailed answers covering advance then beginners level. Yes it was unedited but it was thorough to show that I'm an expert for this level and perhaps more in much harder departments to show the difference in human capital and potential growth. Sometimes I wished I gave sweeping generalization answers with a nice tone but I was once a manager and I could not stand nonexperts working since it will eventually show through their analysis and create problems in many areas not to mention human error and lack of quality control, but what do I know many companies do this anyway. They rather have someone who follow orders but inexperience.

You know what no one talks about on RU-vid? That they just don’t like you as being a reason. In one of my jobs I was told, the other people were just as qualified however we liked you more; and we’re not going to hire someone we don’t like. I know, everyone thinks “yea of course” but this could be something as simple as, you had pretty privilege or you chose the right thing to wear. You could have all the experience in the world and feel like the interview went well; but if they don’t like you, you’re shit out of luck.

Just found this video cos I needed someone to put me out of my misery. I interviewed for a company exactly a month ago today, the interviewer told me at the end that I did great, it was conversational, he seemed to be laughing the whole time and kept on telling me he was impressed but it’s now been a month and I haven’t got any feedback, even though he assured me that he would get back to me as they where still interviewing other candidates. I sent a thank you note and will do one last follow up. Any idea as to why it’s taking them so long to give me feedback? At this point I just don’t want to be ghosted

It’s possible that the position has been filled, or also likely that it’s put on pause due to budget or hiring constraints. The latter happens quite frequently. That’s not an excuse to ghost you and if they did, that is not a culture you want to work in anyway so consider bullet dodged!
