Ground infantry hasnt really been changed all that much, although that should change in the future. In terms of ground combat, the units that have been given the most attention are more the heavier units, such as the AT-AT, as well as new units like the Advanced AT-AT being added.
Hey Carrots, thanks for playing the mod. The reason why you werent able to get anything from the Fighter Dockyard was due to the Tech Level. And some of the models that look like base game, are base game models but have new bones added to allow for more weapons so they can perform better in battle. Same thing with the Capital Dockyard, not high enough Tech Level. Empire gets ISD I at Tech 4
I’d suggest doing the mission for Zhar, it’s actually pretty easy if ya know what your doing and I can explain it. It will give you the world afterwards and the possibility for 2 tibanna refineries on the planet.
Im a tester for this mod and let me tell you - if you decide to continue you're in for a great treat. Might even find my custom hero if you get to Nal Hutta (and it won't be conquered by any of 4 main factions...as well as if you won't play on equal footing as it has some troubles being uploaded there) 😉
Hey, awesome video. I've watched bits and pieces of some of your AOTR videos before and it was a welcome surprise to see you covering DoC. I'm actually a developer for Days of Carnage, handling a lot of the behind-the-scenes scripts and code bits. We have an update that's due soon which has been in the works for several months now, which adds a lot of new player-submitted heroes (which anyone is welcome to submit via our discord server), AI improvements, a revamped economy (credit income was very low for most factions on most of the larger GC maps) GC layout revamps, and certain other balance changes and visual improvements. In general, the update poses a massive overhaul to the mod as it currently exists publicly. Even the videos I have of DoC on my own channel are rather outdated by now. We're trying to roll it out in the near future, since it has been a while since a public release. In the mean time, I've gone ahead and slightly increased the inaccuracy of the Basilisk and Canderous vs infantry - I can agree that they were probably a little too efficient in the fight there on Vjun. The Basilisk is very strong generally, probably one of the Mandos' best units all around, with no real equivalent in the unit rosters of other factions - playing into the Mandalorians theme of very good fighters in space as well. The Canderous is less OP than it was in vanilla FoC, but a highly capable AA and AT unit that probably shouldn't be as good against infantry as seen here. The one thing I must sadly point out is that the orbital bombardment for the Mandalorians is the "nuke", no matter what capital ship is doing the bombarding. I don't think it is possible to have more than one bombardment option per faction code. I think it is possible to have some sort of really hacky system where the ability spawns in a dummy projectile that then summons an orbital bombardment from a non-playable faction which then in turn has their projectile affiliation set to the original faction, but that sort of system would be a lot of work to try to code, and I'm not entirely sure if it would even work. (There's an idea for any other modders watching, though.) Also, yeah, the petroglyph symbols on the terrain there were from missing textures, unfortunately. We have a lot of maps in use throughout the various GC options and a few of them have missing models or textures, which is something we're always trying to nail down and clean up, but there's only a few of us working on the mod and we don't usually get a whole lot of feedback. Anyway, I'm glad you seemed to enjoy the mod! It really makes our day when we see people having a good time playing it - reminds us why we put in all the work we do. I will definitely ask that you reserve some judgements for after the update soon, as a long playthrough would probably reveal some already addressed issues like the economy problem I mentioned earlier, but obviously let us know what you think or of whatever other feedback you might have, and the update will be all the better for it! PS, if you want to submit a hero for the next update, there's still some time, probably. Can do a playthrough with one of your own characters, which is something I dare say not many other mods let you do!
