excellent.....de AB5ZA/7, or /P, depending on the situation......I do summits on the air occasionally, and run Elecraft K1 rigs......working on upgrading the main station, but started out with an HW-8 in 1980.....would love to have another one.....HW-7 is ok too, and good to see these rigs out and making qso's......72.....de AB5ZA/7.....thumbs up.....

6:27 There is an easy way for "canned messages" with destination SOTA. Hit MSG to see the list of messages. Select a message sent to SOTA with the rotary encoder or up/down keys. (Sent messages are marked with an arrow to the right.) Now press MENU and select the desired function: Re-TX for simply resending the message. Edit for editing the message. The rotary encoder or up/down keys can be used to modify existing characters so changing summit numbers or frequencies is quite easy. CLR deletes single characters, hitting the keys inserts new characters. As I seldom know my operating frequencies before, editing an old, sent message is easier for me than using the phrases. 73 de DB7MM

Thanks for this tutorial. I didnt know I could make pre made messages. So much easier than inputting the spot info while on a summit. BTW, I've had a couple of spots not get posted on SOTAwatch as well as general messages to other APRS operators not come through. Not sure why. 73....Dave K6KNS
