this sold me on dehancer bruv - saw a lot of other videos that just didnt quite make the mark -- but this is simple; its almost reminiscent of grading in photoshop or lightroom, which, as a photographer primarily, feels very intuitive 🔥
Looks great!! To get even cleaner results I would put Dehancer on first to add the film compression.. then degancer again after the LUT for the grain and halation
Thank you! For the outdoor scenes it was the Helios 44-2 , the close up portrait was Sigma 24-70 Art, then the scooter scene in Bali is the Samyang 35mm F2.8 😁
Did you have to shoot your 4k footage in 1080p due to the crop on the a7iv? I’m ordering this lens but will want to slow some of the footage down, I’m presuming the 4k 60 would ruin the ‘look’ of the lens?
This was shot in 4k 25fps no crop - the crop is only applied to 50fps/60fps - We haven't tried shooting with it in 4k 50, will give it a bash and post some tests! :)
Amazing cinematography, is the lense rehoused within a housing unit or are you shooting directly from a adaptor and the lense. Also would you mind telling me your experience when it comes to focusing, wether its photography or filming, is hard, easy ect ect. Thanks
Thank you so much for the kind words! :) This was so quickly thrown together haha! It is just the lens and adapter, no rehousing. the focusing isn't to bad, but if you use it with a follow focus it becomes nice and smooth, more control.
i just copped the lense, so i appreciate the words of advice, and quite relieved i don't have to spend a couple grand on housing. can't wait to see where you go.@@foreignstudio
Do you ever think of going wider shots? I currently have the same 35mm gm but man sometimes i think of going to the 24mm or 16-35 gm1 but you made me backtrack on how good the 35mm gm is lmao 😮💨 Great video man!
Thank you so much! We have the sigma 24-70, but sacrifice the different shots with saving weight for travelling haha! We actually sold the 35gm and got a Samyang 35mm thats even smaller 🤣
Just amazing!!! I'm in Lisbon shooting with different lenses and I used a carl zeiss 19mm the entire time but tomorrow I'm gonna use the helios that i brought along. I forget how beautiful that cheap lens is. Now I'll never forget after watching your video and what amzing colour grading sir! Awsome!!
