Bought a new lid and the latch. The Tahoe I bought was missing the latch. I now realize why. The little mechanism that opens and closes when you ouch the latch doesn’t want to release the hook all the way. Keeps getting stuck closed. Tried WD 40 and I’m now at a loss as to how to get it to not get stuck even with the new lid

Yes it most certainly is worth buying one if it is in good Condition and low miles and you can afford it particular the 6.0 and proper dual exhaust 2005 or 2006 hey go for it even the 2004 5.7 can get rebuilt with improvements and that tailpipes that exit on one side only there are places that can correct that for sure
Actually on the 1998 that I have the stock number one battery location is on the passenger side... I have the secondary mounted on the frame in a tin box... Looking to put it on the driver's side instead and lose the tin box...what year is yours?

Older video, but worth a shot. Seemed like this may have been your personal ride. I just picked up a ‘12 Denali for a good deal so I’m combing RU-vid for the tiny little issues with it. I had a ‘12 Silverado and it’s crazy how diffeeent the dashes are. Never should have sold Black Betty…especially to my cousin who has royally thrashed her 😢 We have a ‘21 LT Trail Boss I call BlackJack and I really like the softer more padded dashes on them now. One of the other things I wanted to see if you had an issue with….Bose head unit works great and looks great except the touch screen doesn’t work. I can navigate with all the physical buttons and so on, but zero touch reaction. Im sure if I dig some more and search the right terms I’ll find something. Wanted to ask and give thanks for this dash video all at once. Appreciate your time and subscribed. 👊🏼
There is a couple companies that do exchange units. Technicar is where a lot of dealers get the head units from. Will have to be programmed to the vehicle. Thanks for checking out my channel

There is a bunch of inhibit reasons for the auto stop not to work. The most common is a weak battery. If the battery voltage or life is low the vehicle thinks it has to stay on to charge it. Second is the a/c running more then normal like during the hotter months. If the vehicle sees a 80% command for the compressor it will not auto start. Hope this helps.
Will it be possible to put another complete piece from a newer tahoe, that is, from a more recent generation? Or open a place that sells you all new pieces but of better quality?
Z06 an stingray both are great cars!! I have a 2015 Black stingray c7 z51 3lt m7 great car no issues although I don't drive it to often its gd to have it!!
