Can you please tell are you using wacom or microsoft surface for drawing, i have iPad 12.9 but illustrator does not have full features as of desktop. Response appreciated. Thanks
Beautiful, as an artist nature has the best color complimentary at your display. Look around at the many flowers with their different colors, the colors in the sunset, the sunrise, riverbanks, . Also, there's a book I love : The Complete Color Harmony Workbook by Kiki Eldridge. That's such an amazing book.
I think the word perfect is misused a lot. In this context, you mean 'meets and acceptable level of quality', but that doesn't have the right ring to it for expressing your frustration.
this is amazing!!! You should make a video of your workflow making the art on your drawing tablet! I want to make multilayer artwork like this, but im not the best artist thats for sure, and especially doing something like this, multilayer stuff, I cant even wrap my head around making the art together and that and making it look good, this is truly amazing good job!!
@@Philip-Roberts your not bad at making videos at all!! Your great at it, especially for a start, when I was watching I thought u would have had lots of videos w like a million subs, your not bad at all!! Keep going!!!
Just takes a while. It is easier if you work in the proper layers AS YOU DESIGN rather than waiting until the end. That probably doesn't help you now but try on your next project and see if it goes faster. Good luck!
time 0:15 wall have totally ugly "art" i not can say this "art" ugly why waste time build this if any not want this ugly "ART" to own home, waste only lot time stupid, not can say art. need say trash.
Hello friend, I discovered your channel a few days ago, I really liked your work, I'm starting with low power laser cutting, I'm from Brazil and I would really like to learn how to do it
Is that "rule of construction" from the United States? There's an ongoing joke in architecture school: In the United States your carpenter's acceptable tolerance is .75" whereas in Germany the acceptable tolerance is 2mm. The joke is the standards of the United States.
Haha. I worked construction through highschool and uni (in usa). Even from crew to crew, the standards are wildly different. We have some seriously talented contractors here and some amazingly terrible ones.
A few years into my laser engraving journey with entry level lasers.Hi Philip how do you get the edges black do you paint before cutting or after with a brush.
@@Philip-Roberts nice. I had tried that but the mask left a reside. I think I need to try a different brand. I would love to chat more sometime if you’re interested
Beautiful artwork and execution. I was looking for inspiration for a future project involving layers of wood and this came up. I've got a cnc router which I was considering using but those laser cuts are so crisp.
I just use illustrator as that was the program that I knew best prior to using laser cutters. However, any vector program will work well with Laser cutters and a bunch of them are even free.
haha you wouldn't believe the hours that go into this. It's insane. I got into this because I THOUGHT it would be easy. Hope you're doing ok out there. -Phil.
@nicholasmanohar7866, just because all he showed was the laying out of the pieces, does not mean there was no 'workmanship' applied. If you were not present when it was made, don't assume what you see in a short is the only process to occur on something.
@@MrsZig2U Aww, you are kind, thank you. I even have two people helping me full time and I could 100% not do it without them. Would be nice though if it was faster haha.
This is sold to me as 3 layer mahogany but I’m not sure I believe them. I think it is some sort of asian species look alike. We have learned to work around the problems with it now and we’re happy with how it finishes up (now that we figured out its personality).
@@Philip-Roberts designing with 3D modeling software then taking a “slice” every 1/8” vs printing it other materials. Say you had a 3D model of a Pokémon, you could pull a slice every so often and have a wooden Pokémon 😌 then use the laser to cut those and laminate. I might have time to try artsy stuff, just got a 33x32 laser and am amazed at what they can accomplish.
I use a boss machine. However, I have never used a different machine so I have no idea how it holds up to other companies. We have fixed/replaced an insane number of parts over the last 7 years but again, I don’t know how that compares. Hope this helps.
@@Philip-Robertsyes you've been of great help, truly appreciate it. Thank you. I did contact Boss machine. But there ain't a dealer here in Singapore. So i might have to look at some other brands. Since i wouldn't want any spare part or replacement to be an issue. Whats your CO2 wattage you are using?
