In 1979 Linda was probably at her peak in terms of her superstardom. You can see by her hair, makeup and outfit here that she was trying to transition to a more 80s look. Her new wave album Mad Love came out about 6 months after this concert in 1980.
In summer of 1973 after the Dixie Chicken tour, my roommate and I drove down to LA to visit my parents. That was the excuse anyway, we were there to visit members of Feat. At Sam Clayton’s house in Laurel Canyon we asked Sam, Kenny and Paul if they would join us for a day at the beach. Sam and Kenny broke out laughing. Asking what the joke was, I was told “Bonnie would NEVER let Paul go to the beach with other girls”.
Paul deserved much more credit for writing Feat tunes than he got in his lifetime because he had to satisfy fans’ desire to hear him play Lowell’s songs. A favorite tune is Missin’ You, written by Paul.

Bill I love Little Feat ,The best Party Band ever, I do have a few albums signed by most of the band, when people ask who is my favorite band I say Little feat and most of it is your style of playing,all members are very talented and thats why I have seen the band so many times
Love Little Feat, and love ya Tony, and love Bonnie. Bonnie was a BIG role model of mine, and we both played at the SUNY/Albany some big party and she was on one stage, and we played on the other.........way back in late 70's. I didn't get to meet her, but I sure would have been honored to. Great show. Love hearing the back stage "workings" of songs.
Bill is wearing his coat of many colors. What caught my eye (and made me go back to make sure) was how the entire band riveted their attention on Bill during the entire horn solos ((about 2:45-4:50).
It’s definitely not Bill as he has a very distinct voice. Richie sang the high harmonies in is younger days and I believe he had a slightly higher range than Bill. I think a lot of music lovers don’t notice some of the finer nuances and love music as a whole. I realize that this is a general statement and I mean no offense to anyone. I have a deep appreciation for singing drummers as it has to be difficult to have the lungs to do both and Richie was exceptional at both!! Dude had a great ear to boot. No band quite like Little Feat! I liked Sailing Shoes, but it was Rock N Roll Doctor that hooked me for life. Saw them twice while Lowell was still alive. Sadly they weren't so well known so they opened the shows (once for ELO, another time for Poco). A big heartfelt shout out to Sam Clayton who put me on the guest list for the second show because I was a poor college student and couldn't afford the ticket (I was the "popcorn guy"). I'll never forget his kindness and generosity! Didn't know how they would carry on after Lowell passed, but they did with flying colors! (just recently saw the Waiting For Columbus anniversary show - fantastic!). And I can thank Bill & company for turning me on to Dolly Parton, when I saw that 3 of them were in her backing band, I bought the album.
LF's debut so raw almost demo level - as in intial cuttings of gems yet to be further polished - but it's grown over the years to be my favorite band release, (& Feat fans know there's plenty of rocking to choose from BL & AL (to keep the analogy going kinda hopefully ;-). Anyways a nother piece of audio jewelry from Mr George gone but never forgotten. T/y for this YT.
