Unsure about the Cows, I think too many next year will be better but as you said it’s pretty uncertain. Lawton is a good inclusion imo I think he was really solid for us this year. Losing Val Holmes (which wasn’t on the NRL site for some reason) and Kyle Feldt will mix up their backline a bit and their replacements are probably a little unproven. As a raiders fan, this season shows that we have a bright future. Considering the players we lost in the off season and the fact our halfback was out for over half the season this is a performance to be incredibly proud of, to beat Panthers and Roosters were my highlights of the season. One huge thing we need to fix is the blowout losses. If we could have won by more and lost by less we would be in the finals. Consistency is key for the future.
Fantastic video and completely spot on, I'm also a bit concerned about going into next year. I do feel like we overperformed a tad bit during that long streak at the back end of the year but with a bit of punch coming into our forward pack next season, we could potentially be a team that'll be very hard to beat. One thing I pointed out from the Finals game against Manly is the way the players reacted when the game was over, heads down, knew they worked incredibly hard just to get to that point, knowing their season was over, this reminded me of the 2020 Panthers when they lost to Storm in the grand final, losing purely from an experienced team, being so close after a tremendous season and came back the year after winning the comp. I'm not expecting us to win the comp next year but I do believe they will build on that loss, let alone build from the entire season, and come back even stronger.
Why did they stop showing the Broncos every week on nine? I was a big Broncos fan until they decided I had to pay to follow them and frankly they don't dish up footy that is worth me paying for.
What a season from my doggies incredible rise from wooden spoons to finals all hats of to our recuitment and ciro for bring back back that dna and culture back from the old days it feels like the start of something big brewing here hopefully 2025 is big and better now the player have experience finals now we can focus on building a strong forward pack that we need to compete with the big boys i feel like we missed that throughout the season and improve more in attack i feel thing will be on the up and also i'm super proud of ciro that he has implement his defensive style form penrith now we look to bulid on that ❤💪💪💪🔵⚪🔵⚪
According to zero tackle which is usually more updated Knights have signed: Taj Annan(a young 21-year old Queensland Reds signing), Manuleleua from the Panthers(haven't heard of him) and James Schiller from the Raiders so nothing crazy
To think we didn’t have Fogarty for half the season and most people predicted us to come near the bottom 4 I’ll take it. But we have the same issue every year, we will win by 1-12 but normally when we lose we get beaten by 13+ and sometimes by 30. But it is what it is and we still have a bunch of young players coming through.
From a Raiders fan, that’s a pretty awesome analysis from a neutral fan and mirrors many of the views of the fan base. Flatlining is a good word because that’s often what happens under Ricky, he puts a floor under us. We are tipped for the wooden spoon or bottom 4 every year but it is easy money to bet against that because that’s not what Ricky teams do. The problem is arguably he puts a ceiling on our ambitions and that’s the concern of many Raiders fans with a young crop coming through. The only other comment is that neutral fans often describe us as “gutsy” “gritty” etc. but this is certainly not all the time, and exhibit a,b,c,d was when you went through all the times this season we got belted. What Ricky does is get the players primed for certain occasions or certain late season runs, but he can’t get them up week to week, hence the flat weeks where we get flogged. We will need to diversify our game away from merely being gritty 50% of the year if we want to go places.
Great video mate, I got the same opinion. I feel as if we are in a sort of rebuild/development stage at the moment and in a year or two when our young blokes have that experience we could be a really good team competing for the top 4.
Katoa/Nikorima halves combo is the way to go imo... Backline is deadly when we get into the oppositions red zone... the problem is we're finding it hard to get there... we need players that can give us that go forward to get us out of our half.. Hopefully Flegler n Gilbert can help us out with that.. Was keen to have Te Whare on the wing to help out with the go forward also but oh well...
also too yap a bit more flanno was shocking most games. his best games were against manly, penrith and melbourne. and all of those games he controlled the field and seemed to be in the game more then hunt. i truely believe hunt has let us down big time. last year was a good halfback being held down by us. this year he held us down. his kicking game was the worst all year by any halfback. probably kicked more balls out on the full then a u8 footy team. i think our best bet is letting him go and signing a young halfback with potential. i don’t think we need a massive signing like a sam walker or a DCE (just examples ik we wouldn’t have gotten any of them) but just signing a halfback with potential or even a experienced halfback who’s been around for 3-4 years. like a toby sexton. halves let us down. if we don’t change them we won’t even get close to the top 4 or maybe even 8th.
mixed year. proud of most players, besides hunt, lawrie and flanagan. if hunt had a poor start, we lost. and half the year it seemed like we had no halves in 60% of games. our best players were easily liddle, sua, tuipulotu, lomax, suli, molo and tom esenuith. rest of the team bland. ur 100% correct abt us being the worst team at consistency. heck even the tigers are constant. yeah consistently bad but still consistent lol. def see us moving into the 8 next year and playing week 2. we aren’t rebuilding but we are definitely building to be what the dragons truely are. nice video tho man!
If there's one thing thats consistant with my dragons its our inconsistency,never back us when we're favourites we put out of form teams in form,the same thing will happen next year,Good breakdown Blaze mate 👍Just on the victory in penrith we had 6 players out that game too so our reserve grade team beat their reserve grade team lol
Redcliffe is considered Moreton Bay in QLD Cup but technically it's north and east Brisbane on a map. Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast are boom towns now so they should be entitled to their own clubs. Toowoomba should be another nrl club representing the west. It's got kind of a purity feel about it too like Canberra.
Honestly not far off, Reyno, Walsh and Haas have all had lengthy stints on the sideline but that’s not a good enough excuse. Just look at Penrith or Melbourne Mam and Piakura had a shocker this year, their form needs to lift next season for sure. Riki is not far off either. Our biggest issue is our 2nd rowers don’t have that grit where every other clubs have atleast one star. Billy isn’t our 9 we need Mozer in and potentially Paix off the bench. Karapani has alot of potential but the other 3 pick ups are duds, I’ll be easier on Hunt because he’s been okay. Our bench forwards have all been pretty solid Willison, Tapau and Tekura. Our back 5 has issues. Walsh has been pretty solid but needs to improve more assess of his game, mainly defense and confidence in attack the line and getting that hospital pass out of his game. Arthars is pretty solid but makes no metres. Staggs is a beast but so often doesn’t get the ball enough to do anything, rushes out in defense too much. Cobbo has the highest ceiling but my god is he lazy and needs motivation, he’s so 50/50. Mariner is a try scoring machine but also loves an error and is shocking in defense. Our backs have let us down this year. Carrigan, Kobe and Jensen turned up every game to give it their all I’ll give them their flowers.
After last year it was really good getting to mock the Bronchokes on a weekly basis. Even better we became their daddy in Rounds 1 and 9. How to sum up their season: It all started this one time in Vegas
