Jeff Waters is one of the greatest on the planet..while he is known for the magnificent shredding in Annihilator....This song and this album ..this side project just shows off his versatility as a musician and the other styles of music that inspired him.
It is a great homage to VH, I love the drums and guitars, great grooves. With the vocals, I mean it's all right but this kind of tune just craves for high energy, screams and razp in the voice like the DLR had. But anyway, I would gladly listen to a whole album with such VH-esque style!
You know Jeff, Amerikan Kaos actually reminds me of "Set The World On Fire" - a record that was just Heavy Rock and Metal in its different facettes without getting hung up on some stupid label too much. Look at what Metallica are doing these days. When you listen to their latest record ... they don't care about the category. They've got some Thrash on there, but also some of that Black Sabbath and Zeppelin inspired, bluesy heavy riff stuff they were doing in the mid 90s, there's NWOBHM in there, all kinds of stuff. It's just simply Metal without looking at it in this stupid narrow way like everyone does now. And it's just a very diverse and very deep sounding record. What you're doing with Amerikan Kaos is almost similar in its mentality - it just misses the "Annihilator" part. I think these different sides of your creativity don't really need separating. I still think that the best Annihilator record has not yet been written.
And you’ve done that, Jeff You have went through that extremely hard moment of your life and u continue to gift us that kind of honest music, thank you ✊ By the way there’s a really good combination of a woman’s and a man’s vocals So heartbreaking and innocent
Brian Tichy is amazing !!! His work on the Forevermore album by Whitesnake is fantastic !!!The work on The Passadena Four sounds exactly like Van Halen, Jeff should play the guitar on the Van Halen Tour Sammy Hagar does :D
