@32:04... The bowler in the video shown is Lance Cairns of New Zealand and he was bowling to Jimmy Higgs of Australia. The host was constantly telling that the bowler was Jimmy Higgs. Jimmy Higgs was a slow bowler (read as spinner), while this video shows a medium fast bowler. Also, how is it possible that the Australians are wearing the black caps, while their cap is the Baggy green? Very poorly researched answer. Upon a preliminary look, the researcher has gone purely on the basis of the title of the video, instead of going by the real merits of what has exactly happened on the field. The caller for quote of the week was google searching the answer. You can clearly hear the typing at 24:15...Sumanth would have surely caught him red handed and kicked him out without awarding the prize.
Absolutely. Very well said. How badly is the audience missing the services of Dr. Sumanth Raman!!! This host, as one can see from almost all the previous episodes, is more interested in socializing and wasting precious air-time, thereby putting off viewers from focussing on the questions. Also, the time management from this person is very poor. Dr. Sumanth Raman is not only very fast, but also, had plenty of time for e-mail questions too - apart from the routine questions (20 questions + background image + 8 SMS and taking suggestions online and spontaneously (time permitting). The above attributes, thanks to the efficiency, presence of mind etc. of Dr. Sumanth Raman, just gives a clear idea - as to how time is wasted by the present host. Also, the quality of the questions have drastically diminished.
The chess puzzle has been poorly researched by the present host. @33:21, the first move played by white is shown as Ne8. For this black can respond by playing Na2-c3 (preventing the white queen (on e1) from coming to e4. Also, by black playing Na2-c3, the rook check (on the second move) can be blocked by the black knight when black replies by Ne4. The present host of this program seems to be more interested in socializing with every caller in the program, thereby wasting precious time of several participants, who are literally breaking their fingers by pressing the phone continuously. We need Dr. Sumanth Raman back urgently, in order to restore the sanctity of this wonderful program, which, we hope will enter the Guinness Book of world records. In one of the earlier episodes too, the chess puzzle was poorly researched. Request to whoever is reading this comment from DDSports Quiz: Kindly share the contact mobile numbers of those authorities, who were responsible to remove Dr. Sumanth Raman from hosting this program and we shall call them from this part of the world to put pressure on the people, behind the scenes - who got him removed from hosting. Hopefully, sanity will prevail.
That caller is usually very irritating. If you observe in all episodes, the number of clues he asks for in any question is more than the no.of questions in the picture board. He doesnt deserve the prize.
The way in which the chess puzzle is structured is really bad. The less said about the notation of the board, the better it is!!! Puzzle shows as follows: For white: Pawns at b6, c6, d6 and f3; Rook at g8, Knight at g7 and g4 and Queen at a1, King at e7: For black: Pawns at d5, c3, f4, g6 and King at d4. Can some sane person, who plays chess, tell me how can the white pawns at b6, c6 and d6 move towards b5, c5 and d5? They can move only towards b7, c7 and d7. The host has poorly researched the position, poorly presented the position and has sent all the callers on a wild goose chase. To make matters worse - not only the position is wrong, but the wrong answer given by another listener was given as correct by the host. Really horrible. Ever since Dr. Sumanth Raman left the show, the quality of the questions has gone to dogs
The solution to the chess puzzle is horrible and what makes matters worse is that the host says it is correct. If 1. Ng4-e5, black can play Kc5 (the white pawns are on the 6th rank and they can move forward and not backward) Dr. Sumanth Raman - we're badly missing you as a host
@@ravis6376 Here is the sequence: 1. Ng4-e5+, Kc5 2. Qa5, Kxc6 (and king will escape) There is no way white can checkmate black in 3 moves, given the position. Wish to share with you that the notation of the squares is grossly incorrect. Pawns cannot move backwards, they can move only forward. Currently, all the white pawns are on the 6th rank and they can move only to the 7th rank
