A bit late to the party but you could of isolated the valve below the filter (leaving the return valve for boiler open), isolate the flow isolator, remove the cold mains flexi on the filling loop and open the CH side valve, that would of drained the boiler without touching the PRV as the non return valve is (and should) be on the cold mains side. Just a tip for future to avoid unhappy customers. Hope it helps 👍
That was really interesting. I am currently trying to fix a Icos HE15 set to heat hot water. The pump and valve to divert through a hot water cylinder are in the bathroom. I thought the PCB had failed, a black one and was sent an orange one with same part number. I copied the 1,2,3 jumper settings on it and switched on to get 1 HE HE HE and so on. I put the old PCB back and got a display of 1, then 0. Sometimes it will show E or HE. The boiler works when it feels like it. It had new ignition electrodes but I might change them again and clean the flame sensor and condensate trap. What I get now is the boiler either works for a random time and goes HE or LF, or it tries to fire, does a few clicks , and either fires and stops with HE, or it fires and runs for a bit then stops. It is driving me mad! The orange circuit was from ebay and refuses to work, so the company keeps telling me to try different jumpers, even though it's not in the correct instructions. They even put a note saying if the boiler shows HE, to call them! So I am about to give up and can not find anyone in the NW who will repair or fit a new one for 6months. They don't want the work.
Hi, if your divertor valve is different to this one you need the serial number. And speak to a supplier. Hope that helps. Also could you subscribe to our channel
Hi, I have one of these boilers, i have lost functionality of the central heating part, the domestic hot water part works fine. It was working fine and then at the beginning of summer i turned the central heating temperature knob down to the standby mode...I have just tried reactivating the central heating but as soon as i turn the central heating temperature knob up it trips my mains circuit breaker... Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what it could be??
Hello, We have sane boiler hot water works just heating only works when set to max by holding reset button in other words not when on ECO mode. What it could be in your opinion? Thanks in advance
Hi..... I've got a 24cxi like that one...... My diverter valve has stuck, but your video on replacing it' shows a different valve type..... Is there a different part fitted to the one in this video, and on my one. Thanks in advance Jon
Hi, thanks for the video. I have the same Timeguard model. It only works when the immersion switch is on. If it's off, I can’t even use the "boost" function. A few days ago, I contacted the Timeguard helpline, and they informed me that the immersion switch should remain on, while the Timeguard will handle the on/off switching based on the programmed schedule. However, if the immersion switch is off, the Timeguard cannot operate according to the scheduled time. Can you confirm that the immersion switch near my boiler needs to remain on, while the Timeguard controls the on/off switching according to the schedule I’ve programmed into it?
Hi tony i have another issue. That flexible hose in your video, which goes horizontally. The original part has an isolating value screw. The screw is leaking. I am wondering if i can install an alternative flexible hose with isolating value? The original part is POWERMAX 5111833 FLEXIBLE BYPASS VALVE KIT, but its a rip off. I saw the one in your video, its a replacement but not original.
years late, lol, just started industry, 1st check internal / external Thermostate is working and on correct heat setting ie not effecting demand. 2nd check operating pressure to ensure no gas drop when CH comes on, some boilers can run low gas on hot water, check for fan and ignition on demand for CH, 3rd check diverter valve is moving when calling for CH, 4th check CH stat to ensure not giving incorrect reading, 5th check pcb to ch stat, 6th Pub
