Please guys, can we talk about Calafiori and how he might be a market available answer to the left side permanently. IMO this is the best opportunity to transform arsenal’s left hand side that I have seen this summer. Imagine what his ability to make the overlapping run for Martinelli would mean. With this arrangement, I would be comfortable playing Rice as an 8 for the season knowing he will occupy the deepest position within the left triangle (with occasional switches with the rest of the left triangle) giving Calafiori and Martinelli the chance to be at their best while interchanging with each other. The potential of this signing makes me excited. We could also see a situation where Timber could be a healthy backup while he recovers and Tomi’s minutes managed to improve his availability. The deal is very possible as we have had previously dealings with Bologna. We could also see Timber try at left 8 with this signing, who knows 😅.
If Bruno G was at Arsenal, about 7 of those 20 whatever yellows would be red at the bare minimum. Don’t want unscrupulous violent thugs at the Arsenal anyway no thanks.

I'm realising whenever we profile any transfer prospects, the number recurring problem is we don't have an Overlapping fullback,. Also appreciating Ben White's importance to this team. He can literally do everything on that right hand side (Invert or Overlap) I think Tomiyasu is the closest to replicating that on the left side

Califlori, diamende, Eze, and bring in onana for 45m. He would be a much better fit for us. A kanu, vieria esk player. Xavi on loan with option to buy for 85m raises to 120m if we win both the epl, and cl. And either kimmich for 60m on 250k a week or kudus for 80m. Kudus is the solution. Imo.

Hi Giorge, great show and analysis as always. My question is on Adam Wharton, I know he hasn't played enough at the highest level, but do you think he would be perfect for that left 8 role and maybe also as a 6.
I think Bruno will play the 6 and Rice will play further forward in the 8 when we are in possession. If you look at why Jorginho was brought into the team and why for England they tried to use Trent in there, it's because Rice is not able to break the lines consistently enough with his passing so our transition was slowed, this was one of the biggest issues we had up until December when we were struggling to score goals
For the number that Newcastle are likely asking, I'd much prefer Youssuf Fofana at a fraction of the price...younger too, so more opportunity for return on your outlay

To the subject: We aren´t just seeing a shift within the approach to loan / contract management. We also see a stronger approach on the playing philosophy. We just signed Nygaard who seems to fit the profile of Raya who we have in the first team. What I mean is that we aren´t just signing promising players. We start signing the "right" promising players who fit the profiles we want to fill in the first team. We are still a long way from structuring this new framework to reach the level of the Benfica or Ajax academies or the world-famous La Masia. I would be delighted if we were able to make a name for ourselves in the world of soccer academies. The early signs look promising.
Disagree with the idea that ødegaard and guimaraes would create overlap. They play on different sides and guimaraes creates from deeper zones, ødegaard from higher up.
The rivals Mancity (personally I don’t think ManCity is our rival as our goal is always CL qual not trophy’s, but anyway) can consistently generate 50M above pure profit from the academy. The issue of Arsenal academy is not necessarily all on whether Arteta use them or not, deeper issue lies in loan management, pathway design and marketing for huge profit. If you see the abysmal state of young gunners, no wonder Arsenal now deep into FSR problems and cannot flash on easy target like Olmo/Bruno.
Hey there guys, loved the analysis! Totally agree that Bruno is not the guy for that price tag. Would love to see a breakdown of Kimmich at Cdm/Cm or Calafiori at Lb in an Arteta system. Also as an overlapping fullback, why does nobody mention Theo Hernandez? Seems like a good fit and he only has 2 years left on his contract. Food for thought anyway.
Could you analyse Declan Rice’s strengths and Weaknesses? Honestly some people need to be reminded how good he is because he’s being heavily criticised by England fans for being an “average” player.

Talking of arguing but saying the same thing. I once had 2 drunk men in my taxi they were both saying exactly the same thing but they were wording it differently. They were getting more and more heated, I tried to interject but neither could understand that they were agreeing with each but wording it differently. Luckily we got to their destination, and they did the usual thing of slinging me all the change in their pockets which came to loads more than the fare. They continued to argue as they got out, despite saying the same thing but just wording it differently, they started to fight, so I just drove off to my next job. I don't think our academy is that great at the moment. We're also poor in loaning them out to the right club with the right atmosphere. Otherwise Arteta would've given them ample opportunities if he thought they were good enough.
The current U18 is the most tiki taka capable group I have ever seen in the Hale End. Although they are not LaMasia or ManCity academy level yet. But there are huge improvements already. When they play out from the back, they are quite comfortable on the ball with good touches, close control and short passes. A lot of our young players in the past have been massively overrated by our fans.

I will not take any Tom slander 🙃, that guy works incredibly hard and is a class act. Runs a daily show before going to his job, interacting with a variety of opinions, some even extreme and still manages to keep his cool.
