I believe Beyoncé ripped moves from Cyd Charrise , most people in that period knew very little about Fred Astaire , ginger Rodger’s , Cyd Charisse and Gene Kelly But if you look at the detail in Astaires dancing he is perfection , in timing and expression, the little moves and the control over his props ! Gene Kelly was magnificent and probably more “ manly” but Fred was perfection ! MJ was a superstar and a brilliant showman and dancer ! But not like the old school and not like Fred
It’s only an homage if you mention the source in the credits , nobody is denying MJ was an enormous talent but he did not acknowledge this plagiarism in the credits ! That’s cynicism, just the same way he didn’t acknowledge rick James in the credits to thriller !!! It took a judge to do that MJ had all the greats to inspire him , Fred Astaire did not , gene Kelly did not , they were the real innovators
So right. MJ lifted this nearly move-for-move from the artistic brilliance of Fred Astaire, yet I don't recall him giving credit. I guess he thought no one would see or remember this.

Did you also have the video by a dancer in about the 1930’s who did the moonwalk (backslide) telling that he started to wear 1 glove to cover the fact that he was missing some fingers after an accident? I’m trying to find this video for a little boy who likes dancing & who is very good! Thank you! I shared this one with his dad for him to watch! I love dance & dance history. ♥️ Thanks for the upload...sorry about your treatment. Craziness. Thanks again! 🙏🏼
😂 Charli Chaplin copied this move from Cab and some of the other black dancers but couldn't get it right. Give credit were it is due, Cab Calloway and a few others did this move as far back as 1932, maybe, a few years further. But Charlie was a good comedian. Here is a video with some of the original moonwalk dances. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xH7VymwHLmo.htmlsi=XAvcpef06z9_HGY8
I just enjoy this so much. So we'll done. Perfectly put together. And Fred Astaire & Cyd Cherise seem to really dance together so well, their work together is outstanding. I've seen Fred Astaire dance with several others & he's always great, but there's something really special in this particular sequence that I really like.
In one of the Beverly Hillbillies episodes, Buddy Ebson (who was a dancer) did something that looked just like the moonwalk. No clue which episode it was though.
