I plan to prime my kitchen cabinet doors and drawers outside but I have no choice but to do the boxes/frames in the house. Are the fumes horrible and how long for them to dissipate? I have a dog and 2 cats and can open windows and doors. Just not sure how bad of fumes we are talking about? I hope you see and answer soon. My cabinets are old polyurethane stained cabinets and this seems to be recommended to go over polyurethane. I love your video. Super informational and easy to follow! I just need some advice about fumes in the house?
I have been having issues with this primer. I'm painting cabinet doors and the surface doesn't feel smooth at all and has bubbles (or something) all through it. I hit it with 220 and that helped. Stirred well, used a combo of brush and roller... Mostly roller. Any idea what I could be doing wrong? I'm really hoping the top-coat paint I bought self-levels well enough to cover the rest.
This was great, you have a ton of patience! They look really good! How do you know if the furniture has a panel that can be popped off like that with a multi tool, etc.? I bought a gorgeous dining room set this spring, built in the 80s, very solid. I love the lines, but all of the doors and drawers have a built up panel type of frame on the face of them. How does one test it out without ruining the piece? I'm nervous to start and then they don't pop off😯 I just found another one of your videos where you are working on drawers just like I have. (It s the decoupage video with curb finds) Answered my own question! Thanks for everything that you share!
Love, love, love it! Tho I don't know what Mud is I love it! Also don't know what adhesive primer is but you can be sure I'm going to find out. What texture it gives and with that stencil wonderful! The legs added are perfect. Can see that in many different colors. Can't wait to see what else you have done.😊
Oh my, you did a beautiful job on those! Can't wait to go to your website to see your tutorials! How much did it cost you to transform these if you don't mind me asking?
Also, a great fast brass cleaner is Lime-A-Way!!! Believe it or not… I clean my kitchen copper sink to a high bright copper shine every so often (then let it oxidize back to brown eventually) but also anything brass it will instantly shine it and won’t harm the metal. Then I polish up with Brasso but it’s super fast because the tarnish is off. Just coats it a bit too. I don’t seal my brass because you can’t get it all off and eventually you get chips that tarnish. Great looking make over … as usual!! 🙌💯👍
Lime-A-Way! I just googled this because I never heard of it... but it could be because it's not as popular here in Canada. CLR popped up when I googled though and I'm guessing it's the same thing. GREAT tip Shelley, thank YOU!
There didn't seem to be much to that table and I wondered how different it could look. But I love what you did to it. I love the shiny brass and the dried sage is really nice.
Thanks for the tips on the cups and plates. So simple, it's genius! And why I never would have thought about it on my own, since I over-analyze things.
Do u protect the little roller w plastic in between using it? Even tho moving quickly, curious if roller dries out some while working on sections of the project..
