I explore the world using science. That's pretty much all there is to it. Watch 2 videos. If you learn something AWESOME, please subscribe if you feel like I earned it.

I'm a bit sceptic about Elon Musk his Spaceship. We all got a bit hyped about his Falcons landing and his cheaper flights to ISS, but this new rocket is maybe a bit rushed and oversold as a concept.
I wonder how this would work if you used something like Thick-It Clear and just incrimentally upped the amount of powder you used to achieve the right thickness
The fact that these videos are free to watch on demand is incredible. Higher quality content in half an hour than a 3 year university degree that sets you back 21k gbp
I once applied to the Canadian Space Agency and ended up with my framed rejection letter on the wall of my classroom. You might not get to where you dream of getting but it is always better to dream. Thanks Destin for your videos and clear simple expression of faith.
I thought you were once involved in a quest to find the one way speed of light. I couldn’t find the video. If you were does this video give you more info or correlate to the question?
i feel like the variable not properly being tested was a simulation of distance and possibly the exact compound or alloy of the original projectiles. say a decent few hundred meters or yards were covered before the impact had occurred, the velocity could have decreased a whole lot considering laws of momentum, the alloy of projectiles back then may have also been a bit more soft or more rigid and that might have an impact on whether the projectiles would have folded into one another rather than exploded. i think these tests have an abundance of momentum and that's what's causing the projectiles to explode on impact. just my 2 cents though
I think the rollerons being able to pivot is actually to assist the responsiveness in the terminal guidance phase, when the missile is close to the target and may need to make extreme corrections when a target maneuvers. If the rollerons are able to be moved, the gyroscopic forces can be delayed so that the missile can make its corrections without being hindered by the rotational inertia of the flywheels.
I live in Mass. and have a farm within sight of my house. I love that it is there because I know no more houses will be built around me. Pluss I can tell what season it is by what the farm is doing. Spring is when the manure gets spread, Summer is when the hay gets mowed and Fall is when the corn gets cut. When I first moved to my house a farmer with a team of mules came by the house in the Spring and asked what I thought of the "smell" of the manure, I breathed in and said what smell? His response was "you"ll do just fine" I have carried that with me the 37 yrs. i have been lucky to live here. I have had White tailed deer, turkeys, Black Bear and Dairy cows in my front yard, and would not trade it for anything. Mike from Mass.
I'm a hit you with a quick fun fact one of the things that navy is tought at boot camp is to treat everyone with respect no mater who or why your just as mutch even tho civ to gard all of the sails backs when you were placed on the ship.
Shoutout to A Shell in the Pit for the music on this! It really adds to the feel the video. As a fan of both this channel and the composer separately I am loving the collaboration. I laughed out loud when I realized you snuck in “Moonscape” from Wandersong!
you think the problem is well meaning people who don't get it or those who are too afraid to speak up. it's much simpler than that: there's money to be made and resumes to be padded
one more comment: everyone needs a Grandpa (You!) an Uncle (me! and Einstein!) and a family farm (Newton!) to grow up Everyday to become Smart. The Davos WEF- Pfitzer- elite wants to stop that and put most citizens into MegaCities (with lots of viruses), be aware! Newton dodged the pox danger, not by vaccination but by isolation!
DAPHNE ROGERS MOLSON, canadian mother Please America, USS Toledo, guard Canada and America's shared ARCTIC. DETECT RUSSIAN SUBMARINES LOADED WITH WAR HEADS THAT WOULD KILL YOU OR RELEASE THEMSELVES. FIND ANY RUSSIAN SUBMARINES WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AND WARN CANADA IF THEY ENTER JAMES BAY OR INTEND TO AND TRAVEL TO THE WEST OF EASTERN SEABOARDS OF CANADA OR AMERICA THAT THEY COULD RELEASE WARHEADS AND TORPEDOES THAT WOULD DESTROY CANADA'S AND AMERICA'S NAVIES. CANADA HAS NOT ENOUGH SUBMARINES TO PROTECT AMERICA SO SEE RUSSIANS CANNOT AIR RELEASE WARHEADS 5000KM FROM JAMES BAY TO AMERICA ANYWHERE. SAVE YOURSELVES AND DO NOT DIVE TOO DEEP THAT YOU COULD NEVER GET OUT OF THE ICE YOU MIGHT DIE IN.
As a former tool and die maker. You should show your viewers a autobody stamping plant where whole outer and inner car bodies are made in transfer press. Thats pretty cool to
@ 30:44 "People in the audience [who should know] did not know the number of rockets that were going to be used to refuel the lander..." ...Maybe that's because the rockets expected to be used for this are made by a privately-held company headed by man whose short-term projections have been accepted for far too long by far too many people who should know better, especially since his long-term "aspirational" projections are more like pipe dreams.
Outstanding work. One of the best I have watched from you Destin and I have been watching for a long time. Great arc, concise, informative and very engaging all the way through. Thanks for your passion and love of providing this content.
Around sixty years ago, I was given a transparent V-8 engine that was a kit. I loved it at about 1/10 scale, but all the parts fit and it really taught me how a ICE worked.
LS firing order is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 so while the left bank will fire back to front 7-5-3-1(technically 1-7-5-3 but looked at in isolation it will apear to strobe back to front) the right bank does not fire front to back 2-6-4-8(again technically 8-2-6-4). No misfire there, just not the order you were expecting.
The worst thing that can happen in an organization is the malaise of compliancy. This happens when BAD leaders are heavy handed and the staff chooses not to resist it anymore. The staff will do exactly what they're told to do by the BAD leaders and when something fails they'll say it was what they were told to do. I worked for only one confident, mostly egoless leader in my 44 years and I hated to see HER leave because of a better opportunity. It's simply amazing how strongly we train technical people and how poorly leaders are selected and trained. Unfortunately people with dominating personalities tend to get picked by incumbent 'leaders' who have similar personalities. And so it goes. It won't change.
