This is great. How do I calculate the distance between the angle and the grommets? i.e. If my slotted angle is mounted 12 feet apart, how much wide is the actual screen?
Thanks for this video . Big discrepancy on new driver I bought for me at Golf Galaxy on Track Man 4- vs GC3 - 27 yard differential at its worst and average of 10+ yards on 10 shots. I call GGalaxy and asked if they juiced the Trackman with attitude but they said and showed me “no”, and even allowed me to bring the GC3-and hit some more to compare the two basically recreating this video. To be fair though-GC3 was within 3 yards +/- on PW and 8 Iron shots and has been accurate with all irons really. Also there’s the fact that : GC3 - $7k Trackman 4 -$22k so you get what you pay for but don’t trust driver data …period.
the spin rates on the GC 3 are very suspect? 620 on the toe shot and on the push shot and then the one you hit with a heel TM was 3273 , which is probably correct and then showed only 1840 on GC3. Too bad the GC3 doesn't show strike location. Be great if you could test them outside to see the real flight. Great work and good swing!
Hey there, Looks amazing and such great tips. Can I please ask how you fix your padding to the side walls? What kind of hardware are you using for that?
What’s consensus on the club data with ST+? I worry that inaccurate club data is worse than no data, especially for someone using this to work on their swing…
Your video confirmed what I am seeing. When I go to my pro for a lesson, we are working on flattening and club path. The trakman path data is far more accurate than Skytrak+. With my ST+, path will read 4 to 6 degrees in-to-out. But when I hit on Trakman, I'm lucky to register a 3 degree in-to-out. So I think ST+ is very good for $3,000 but if you happen to need very accurate club face/path data, it is lacking
Would love to see a comparison on club path data. I had a lesson the other day on a trackman and trackman had me in to out 2 degrees and gc3 had me out to in or neutral. I am over the top at times so gc3 seems more likely correct?? And with regards to spin on trackman if its italicised got to.take with a pinch salt. Even though low spin high launch on foresight is over achieving. Rct test would be great too. Thanks
Awesome video, thank you for posting this. Which device would you recommend for an indoor garage setup? I currently have the Garmin r10 and it struggles inside, fails to pick up a lot of shots, wondering if the Rapsodo would be an upgrade. Thanks!
Great and efficient swing. Did you purposely buy the spot light for Trackman? Also, did you notice a difference in ball speed/club speed without the spotlight for Trackman?
So I'm building a garage in spring and putting in a golf simulator, that Grey padding on the side shaped Like a diamond!!!! Where can I find that.... great video you answered all my questions
HI, just an off topic question. I'm building a home simulator and I really like how you have designed the enclosure walls. Do you mind sharing what size foam thickness is used in the enclosure and is it leather over it? Thanks
I have some thoughts about your comparison. I have trouble with the discrepancies between the two devices. First of all I would appreciate more discussion about the setup of each device. Are both devices level and where are they positioned? Are they both calibrated? Secondly have you tried evaluating two trackmans against each other to see if there are discrepancies between them. Likewise for for the Skytrak. This would give some reassurance to their consistency. Thirdly, can you tack a larger sample of shots and only compare shots with the same swing speeds. Then take an average and then compare. I know I’m being particular here, however your comparison is important to me in if intend to invest in one of these devices.
Hi, very instructive video. Thanks. What would be the distance remaining from the steel bar to the border of the screen when tightening with these bungee balls ?
9:05 nah, I’d argue the rapsodo was still more accurate on the driver bc the first 2 numbers were very close, obviously a misread on the 3rd, while the carmín was all over the place on all 3 shots
Do you intend to do this test again but with RCT balls? They make a huge difference to accuracy for both these launch monitors so would be interesting to see
club head speed should be differrent cuz GC reads at the first touch of the ball and the club head, TM measures at the time of maximum compression of the ball. So GC always couple of miles faster. but the ball speeds are very much the same. every unit has its own pros and cons. Good vid cheers!
Come on! This clearly shows the limitation of TM indoors. You did not once mention the real disparity between the spin rates on that 54 wedge. Almost 2000 backspin off. That is a huge difference. The italics on the TM number means it is estimating the spin - i.e. guessing. Huge weakness of TM indoors regarding spin and spin axis. The difference in carry on the driver has to due in part from Foresight's notorious "low spin boost" on driver. Anything lower than 2200 spin, Foresight gives a boost which is not seen in real life.
It actually shows to me how inaccurate gc3 can be more than the limitations of trackman. You’re telling me he carried 350 yard drives? 😂 trackman seemed to be much more realistic.
So glad I found this video. Immediately subscribed! You answered a lot of my questions regarding how to get that professional finish hiding a DIY mounted screen. One question I still have is how do you have the upholstered pieces mounted to side walls?
