So I was forced to use the bolt on style on some wheels of mine a bit ago and they aren't a good fit at all because there is no flex and they face the center. But I wonder why it comes with that essentially extra rubber piece that you aren't even supposed to use for the style with the threads on the outside
Hi, im a little confused. Did you have to completely remove the steering wheel? Or just slide the steering wheel (still attached) and move the dash (still attached to the car ) just enough to remove the ac unit out ?
Long shot on getting a reply here but been watching your video prepping to do this heater core forcmy friend. Now I'm heater core deep, so to say, how tf did you get clearance to get the heater core out. My hands are dead. SOS
@@onall8950 Meant clearance to pull out the heater core itself. Don't seem to be able to get the whole system down far enough to pry that lid up enough.
@@JdmPoly52222 That's why I took my air box all the way out of the car. That is also difficult but it's almost impossible to get the heater core out without doing that.
Currently just 10 psi from a vortech v2. Going to have it rebuilt and upgraded this winter and then go to a smaller pulley. I am using mild custom cams from Todd Warren. Still smooth idle, just wanted it to breathe a bit more with boost. Since this video, I have switched to E85 and picked up some more power. Looking to give it another go 👍
If you have a question about the process in the video I try to keep the discussion on here to maybe help someone help with a similar issue. If it ends up being more complicated or involved you can find me on Instagram under the same name and DM me.
It could honestly be worse. Does take some time though and it really helps to have two people when you transfer it. It's about 6 out of 10 on the pain scale lol.
@@natesmith7739 I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you're asking but are you asking if there are major parts that need to be replaced should you have a professional do it? If so then I would say most of the time you're good. The hydrolic pump is a bit annoying to deal with but if it's just low that is an easy fix. What problems are you having? Is it just not going up or down?
Will those valve stems that tighten from the inside work on my stock 2010 Ford Taurus wheels? I have the other style but the washer and nut is too big to fit in the hole on the outside.
That was definitely the smart way to go since you had a donor vehicle. Replacing just the vinyl top by yourself is a hellacious job if you aren't a highly skilled upholsterer. I managed it, but it took many many hours, resulted in a number of scratches to the fresh paint job, and didn't result in a perfect job as I have a couple small wrinkles on each side of the rear glass. That being said, I never could have done the job without the guidance I found from a couple YT videos from MECA Upholstery. So, a big thanks to MECA!
EASY WAY CUT HOLE IN FIRE WALL NO MORE BS SHOULD AVE BEEN DESIGNED THAT WAY THE EASY WAY IS NOT THIS IM GOING TO MAKE A NICE CHROME PLATE THAT CAN BE REMOVED IN 2MIN.
I believe mine is from Kirk Racing. It is a bolt in one which is not nearly as good as welding. I am having mine welded in this spring. I would highly recommend paying a little extra for that. Maximum Motorsport also sells several different variations of them depending on if you want the back seat to be usable and if you want a harness attachment. It's one of the best mods you can do for a convertible since it makes the chassis much stiffer and safer of course.
The lines should never be opened. If you have a similar hydrolic system in your 370z then it shouldn't need to be opened to do a swap. If you did open it, than perhaps your fluid level is off. On mine you can check the level and add more fluid if nessessary at the pump. I don't believe there is an issue with bleeding air. Is the pump running? If so than it probably is low/has a leak. If it's not, than you have an electrical issue that you'll have to find. Good luck!
this helped so much, i have a flooded 04 and the top is currently stuck down, even manually with two people it will not move. I'm hoping if i can remove the frame and top as a unit i can see if the joints froze. Great video man
@@onall8950 How do you adjust the top to make it tighter or lose? Like I noticed that there's a screw in the middle where the top folds/breaks , what exactly is that screw for?
@@dbosnow2203 If you mean the vinyl then that is a more complicated process and the reason I chose to do the whole frame instead. If you mean how tight the hinges are than I'm not sure why you would want to adjust them. Those screws should be locked down from the factory and can't really be adjusted to make it fold easier. Either the hinge needs some lubrication or you are trying to fight the hydrolic pressure.
@@onall8950 lol I think we're talking about two different things, in the middle of the piece that folds back there's a screw/nut that looks like it can be used to adjust, my windows aren't perfectly aligned , I'm asking if I tighten or loosen that screw will it bring the top down or up more. If not then how do I adjust the top?
@@dbosnow2203 Ah, Ok. I'm not aware of a screw that is visible with everything together that will adjust the top. Unfortunately I am out of state so I can't go look at my car at the moment. There is a piece that is adjustable behind the interior quarter trim that will shift the frame around. But if it's just your windows that are a bit off, and the top looks good, you can adjust the windows. Here is a video that's not bad. A bit old but so are our cars lol. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E-TLxmP12QY.html
Thank you for you video. Just ordered a replacement top with heated glass rear window for my 99 svt cobra....damn lot too look forward to, but is more rewarding when do it yourself. Thank you again for this video. Is big help
Unfortunately the previous owner of my car did the same thing. Removed the whole A/C system and cut the lines at the evaporator. They even removed the power steering pump and busted the bracket it bolts onto. 🙄
Yes. I'll have to add that into the description. My stock cobra hood did not fit without some cutting and using washers on the hinges. My issue was near the throttle body on the outlet of my air to water intercooler so if you don't have one of those you may be fine.
It doesn't say 'the easy way' but rather 'the easier way' 😉 It does take a lot of work. But all the videos I found required you removing the steering wheel and pulling the whole dash out of fhe car. So even worse than this.
This seems like the roght place to ask how to adjust a sagging frame for my 04 mustang top. It's about an inch too low for the window to all the way up. I've found adjusters to lower the the frame, but non to raise it slightly. Any links or info would he greatly appreciated
Both sides are faily easy if you're used to working on your car at all. The worst part is usually getting everything broke loose depending on how much rust you have.
@@onall8950 is there a way to do this without taking the axle nut off? Mine is seized and rusted so bad that I can't get a socket to fit. I'm replacing the CV axle and the bearing hub
