@@paulatreides9096 that's a shame, my joystick developed a constant drift and the throttle had some plastic part broken inside. So far been using the VKB Gladiator and the quality seems significantly better than X52.
I'm thinking about getting one of these around Christmas. I feel like I would enjoy Elite Dangerous, but I couldn't get the hang of it with a conteroller.
The game has a very steep learning curve but is totally playable with a controller which is what I started out with as it was on ps4. I eventually got the thrustmaster 4 hotas (the only playstation compatible hotas) and have been using it ever since, you have much more freedom of movement with one. Since I'm on pc now I'm looking into the x52 as an upgrade from the thrustmaster.
@@IceDragon1377 check out VKB NXT Evo products and see if it suits you. For the price difference, you get a really significant jump in quality and gaming experience.
Great review dude. Thanks. I'm looking to replace my broken TM 16000 with just a stick for my left hand. I use the mouse in my right. Can you please tell me how comfortable this stick is in the left hand? I've no intention of using the throttle. Thanks.
I never tried using it for the left hand, and the shape of the stick grip design looks to be dedicated for right handed usage. I'm currently using VKB NXT joysticks for both hands, and I recommend that you check those out.
Hey I bought a x52 HOTAS yesterday and it was perfectly fine but today when I was playing with it, it was always going to the right like was moving it but I wasn’t. Can anyone pls help me?
Yea it is cheaper, and I personally don't regret it since now I let my partner use the 7-year-old X52. Also, make sure you look up all the common issues and solutions with the X52.
@@myuw91 have there been any more problems you experienced? I heard the software is a little user unfriendly did you have any issues with it? Or your partner for that matter?
I'm hesitant to buy this. The joystick itself seems decent but Elite Dangerous itself is badly designed. Only two weapon groups usable at the same time? For god's sake, why?
I don't think so. There is a big public Discord group for HOTAS/HOSAS/SIMPIT that you can join where you can get a list of compatible flight sticks for your platform.
If you enjoyed doing this video - do more. You're a natural at filming objects and features. Let me know if you want any help with editing. Thinking of picking one of these up in 2021 for Elite Dangerous
Thanks for the encouragement. Yes I'm planning to do an update on this soon. I also just upgraded to VKB Gladiator NXT joystick, so I may cover that later. Great joystick for the price.
Hi I fired the stick up last night and it’s like new. I remember making a few mods to it. The rubber coating got sticky so I wiped it off with rubbing alcohol. There was also a huge amount of wobble and limp play in the flight stick. I put a cradle of 4, 5mm cable ties between the spring and the base of the joystick which stiffened/tightened it up. Wouldn’t be using it today had I not seen your vid mate. Good job jobbed as we say in Britain.Thanks.
Great video, I’ve had this stick for 12 years or longer I think. It came with an XP desktop deal. Just glad to know I can still use it. Showing my age but I also have played elite since the mid 80s. Thanks for vid I gonna have a bash at Elite Dangerous. The only rusty spring I’ve got now is in my step.
dang, i really thought the silver parts where metal, that would make it a lot better, I have some metal industrial joysticks from some logging equipment, I'll just go back to making those input to a PC since that seems to be the only way to get an actual metal joystick setup
What is the cable that connects Throttle with Stick? I have an option of buying this HOTAS very cheap but its missing that cable, what are the connections on both ends.. is it something i can buy in PC store?
So finally been able to afford a hotas and it being almost this one, just the version sold after logitech bought them out. So wondering if anyone can say how well it compares or if there's any difference even at all apart from being all black mostly instead of the silver mix we see here and a logo swap. Other than that I'm extatic to finally be able to get my hands on a hotas ^_^
I just got one of these after years of keyboard and mouse. The quality seems very low for a $300 product. All the buttons have alot of wiggle and so does the joystick. Maybe a 1/2 inch wobble of slack before i can feel the spring tension. Im thinking im going to return it.
@@myuw91 ya and after trying to use it i realized that as soon as i take my hand off the joystick it auto yaws to the right. its goin back and im gona try a thrustmaster.
I haven't found a use for the 2nd trigger stage in game so far. All buttons are still working fine for me after 4+ years, but the throttle axis calibration sometimes glitches.
