Cottage Designs By Erin is the name of my Etsy shop. I make handmade items like doll clothes, quilts, and pillows to sell. This channel is dedicated to teaching the lost art of sewing handmade items. The link to my store is: cottagedesignsbyerin.etsy.com.
I love the design and the fabric looks like fall and so soft. What a wonderful tribute as well. I have made one flannel quilt that is actually my favorite.
And all my years I’ve never made a flannel quilt. I was always afraid of shrinkage, but I’m sure fabrics changed through the years. I may try baby quilt and see how that would work. Please keep us posted on the outcome of the raffle quilt and thank you for your contribution for the cause🪡🧵✂️❤️
Awwhhhh what a wonderful project to work on. My thoughts and prayers to y’all. Im happy that he shared mom’s stash🥰. Question- what is a setting block? Would it be the same as a cornerstone.?I’ve not heard of that term, only setting triangles for when the blocks are on point I think!?! Thank You ❤️😀
I definitely believe you got more of your money's worth. I also believe that you could mix some of the fabric from the first box, to make that little man that loves yellow, a nice little quilt 😊
Well that was frankly a horrifying selection. I'm super sensitive to fabrics so unfortunately mystery boxes aren't for me. Can't risk wool, can't risk all polyester!!
I can't say I blame you. It makes for a beautiful display, but it is a pain to sew with. I have to be in the mood to work with it. Otherwise, it is a hard and fast, no!
Do you use a ruffler foot. I got one and made so easy. You have to test on fabric to see the stitch length or fullness, gathers of your ruffle.dresses are adorable
I live these books!! I have the Sew In Love but sadly haven’t made anything yet. Not enough time I the day and I’m retired!!! Barns, baskets, houses, flowers, love them all!!!
That is going to be a spectacular quilt. I wish I had my Barbie doll, the original one. Can’t wait to see this quilt finished. I am certain you will do some fantastic embellishments!!! Have fun!!!!
Lightly tea dying it sounds great if you like the primitive look, which I don't but I think it's awesome how a quilt or anything hand crafted can be adapted to suit someone's taste. Glad you made that point. I also love how many things can be personalized with a name especially with the unusual names today. I don't have an unusual name but it seemed hard to find my name on those key chains that became popular when I was a kid or teen. I would be disappointed but then I was thrilled whenever they did have my name.
Is this a twin size quilt? I love the fabric you picked!!! This is such a happy summery quilt!!! By the way, I’m certain you know people love to criticize.
Confused…. your instructions issue have written says 2 1/4 for the red and the cream but in your video you say 2 1/2? I was just trying to clarify this thank you so much.
I added a note into the description box and I took a picture of the printed pattern...it is 2 1/4". Sorry for the error. I corrected it everywhere I could.
Wow, it does look rather simple. I started Eldon by Edyta and it's tedious and fussy! I got the mini log cabins going pretty good but the stars they go around are something else. I was looking at MSQC today and they have a "free" tutorial for rockets I love because I love love love Flying Geese. I do the QIAD four at at time geese. I'll have to look at it in depth later. Gotta a lot of work to get done.
I love her patterns, but yes, some are rather involved. Your project sounds beautiful! I just bought one of her books. I can't remember what it is called, but the cover is all pink, red, and cream. I just came into a bunch of red fabric.
@@cottagedesignsbyerin4548 Does it have a fence, cat and house? I have that one. I love her blue and white quilt with snow scenes on it. I just don't care for raw edge applique so I didn't buy it. I like patchwork or applique like Lori Holt/QIAD does. There's so many beautiful designs and books. I love Lori Holt because I think most if not all her fabric lines can be mixed and matched.
I don't have any homespun but I'm sure quilting cotton would work. It is a simple pattern and I like that it's flat enough to hang between the storm door and front door. I've made things that were too thick so I had to hang them inside. I love your bucket garden too.
