I love this episode you could feel the pain in both julie and ryan. Julie was fuelled by revenge and ryan was avoiding his feelings at all costs because it was to painful. Them being on the same page for the first time ever was so poetic as julie knew the only person that was suffering as much as her was ryan becausd he loved marissa and her dying meant he failed because he was always their to save her.
I really feel like the show missed a good end game. I liked her and Dan together but her and Nate it came through the screen from the very first episode maybe it was the way he looked at her. But they deserved End Game
@user-xy9ut8gi5f oh she was always redeemable and so much of what she did felt justified from her struggle. I’d say she was redeemed from mid season 3 onwards to 4 too. Also, had they listened to her in season one and got Marissa real help instead of letting 16 year olds make up her fate… probably would have had a much better outcome for the girl 🤷🏼♂️
@paulac2006 I mean, they wrote it that way.. but in reality, we overlook so much of what she did. I haven't watched the show in ages so I've probably missed a bunch.. but nothing to do with her struggles... apart from arguably divorcing jimmy cos he's gone broke which was still a bit.... she then has an affair with marissas ex who had cheated on her. She then marries Caleb for money and forces marissa to live with her knowing she doesn't want to, she tries to ridicule Kirsten and sandy at every chance for adopting Ryan. She then starts to cheat on Caleb with Jimmy, and has the audacity to slap him when she finds out about Lindsey. The hypocrisy is unforgivable and not at all understandable. Not to mention she tries to get ryan to kill volchok even knowing it would send ryan to prison, she doesnt care..... In season 3 they make her broke and suffer so they can redeem her as these suows tend to do, but she was the ultimate villain and needed more suffering
@@user-xy9ut8gi5f hmm she has a lot more redeeming qualities than just that i’d rewatch it for sure. I don’t quite see the season 3 making her poor the redeeming arc… And her sending Ryan to kill vol, losing a child will be far more traumatic then losing a 2 year on an off girlfriend at 18. As for her struggles, she came from nothing and a tough upbringing. My guess is (as we become more aware what kind of things that subjects youth to) the reality of that isn’t shown on a glossy teen show… And I stand by my earlier point haha 🤷🏼♂️ Had they listened to her and got her professional help after her suicide attempt, things could have turned out very different :/
@paulac2006 What does that have to do with her sacrificing Ryan to go to jail to kill Volchek? Of course, losing a child is traumatic.. but it doesn't justify using and disposing of Sandy and Kirstens child. The amount of cheating she did has nothing to do with her being poor... she was also heavily to blame for Marissas problems. I also didn't say her being poor was her redemption arc... but part of redemption requires the bad person to suffer.. and her becoming poor was one of those aspects. Sleeping with her daughters ex boyfriend is unforgivable, excusing that is laughable
