First, I am not clear about these military vehicles without regular or armored cab so called convertibles. I know that the British in WWII in North Africa used Land Rover SUVs with open cabs because of the high temperatures and to lighten the weight of the vehicle to carry more water, food and ammunition on longer patrols. But nowadays, when anyone with a drone can disable any military vehicle, making vehicles without a cabin is unnecessary nonsense. Second, why is Bae System said to have innovated by putting Bofors on a truck chassis when other countries in the world have done it long ago like Serbian hybrid PASARS 16 SPAAA 40mm and SAM System.
