I got my 401 as a 21st birthday present in 1971 - I still have it in - never mounted properly! and in perfect nick - with my SME 3012 series 2 - I'm about to retire and will inspect and restore as necessary

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.. Thank you very Much Audio Grail. I thought I'd never live long enough to see a brand new Garrard 301 being opened for the first time.
I didn't realise there were that few copies. One of the first singles I owned. I still absolutely love it. Once I was down visiting in Plymouth (mid 90s) & saw in the local paper that Tony Way had opened a second-hand record shop, so I made a point of going in to tell him how much I loved the record. He seemed a bit surprised, but rather pleased. :)
