Hi! My name is Emily, but most people know me as @21andsensory. I am an Autistic Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Podcaster.
I've been lucky enough to work with brands, companies and universities designing, illustrating, advising and researching all things sensory processing and autism-based. I work full time but in my spare time I host and produce my own 21andsensory podcast. I speak to neurodiverse guests from all walks of life including Authors, Actors, Influencers, Illustrators, Artists, TikTokers, Educators, Activists, Writers, Speakers, Producers, RU-vidrs, Podcasters, Sports Teams, Researchers and Scientists!
(Also: I started my blog when I was 21 so that explains the name 21andsensory!)
Hey! The starry stingray was bought from Amazon but the listing is no longer active :( I had a hunt around online and found this similar one though but it's out of stock: www.desertcart.com.kw/products/63052135-molyveva-squishy-toys-kawaii-slow-rising-soft-squishy-squeezen-manta-ray-stress-reliever-decompression-toy-for-kids-toy-game-gift
Her story was super interesting and also very helpful for me! I am diagnosed autistic but still fighting with imposter syndrome. What she said about the spectrum and different representations helped a but ❤
Hi! I was wondering what the starry stingray was that is shown at 1:22 I’m pretty sure you didn’t cover him and he looks so cute! I was just wondering if it was squishy maybe and were you got it from (if you know ofc I’m sure I can find it if you don’t know)
Hey - I don't think it is available anymore, all the product links from this video are here: 21andsensory.wordpress.com/2020/08/25/fidget-and-stim-toys-✨/ I see that the starry stingray was bought from Amazon but the listing is no longer active :( I had a hunt around online and found this similar one though but it's out of stock: www.desertcart.com.kw/products/63052135-molyveva-squishy-toys-kawaii-slow-rising-soft-squishy-squeezen-manta-ray-stress-reliever-decompression-toy-for-kids-toy-game-gift
Hey - below is a link to my most recent one which is still pretty similar to my current collection! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a7b3VvN4kV4.html&lc=UgzB0lFSAu0_ZAis9lN4AaABAg
Your sensory tool collection puts mine to shame haha. Where did you get all of these? Autism, ADHD, and PTSD in college is hard and having a few more sensory gadgets will help. Thanks for sharing this.
Haha thanks! I mainly get them from: ✧ ACToyz ✧ Fidgettoys+ (Mrs Bench) ✧ Fidgipops ✧ Chewigem / Sensooli ✧ Sensory ToyBox ✧ Adapted James ✧ StimBox ✧ Amazon Hope you are finding college okay and too overwhelming :)
@@21andsensory I’m loving school so far, thanks for sharing this video and the shops you got your fidgets from. I’ll definitely check them all out (I know Amazon and familiar with Chewigem, love Chewigems❤️)
Hi Emily! I was wondering if soon you could maybe consider doing a room tour! When you showed a picture of your fidget collection from a while ago, your bed spread was really cute!
do they have otters that are fidgets and that you can play with? Hi, I am Mandy from Illinois. I am blind and cannot see anything. Can you please tell me what your fidgets look like? 7:55
I need more effort changing bad habits to good habits. I have been wearing weaker lenses for close-up, including working on a computer 40 hours per week. My eyesight basically hasn't changed in about 5 years. Hope I can do better and actually begin to improve it every year. Prior to 5 years ago, my eyes got worse every year or two for almost 30 years! Thank you Jake Steiner!
My worst eye is -6.75 according to my optometrist. I wear -6.25 during the day, -6.50 during the night, and -4.75 while using a computer and for other close-up activities. When I start improving I will add that progress to any old comments of mine I come across👍
Every time I had an optometrist appointment, they increased my prescription strength until about 5 years ago. I think they have actually increased it by 0.25 in each eye. However, that is pretty much nothing to someone who had gone from -1.00 to -6.50 in under 30 years. I need to schedule my next appointment before the end of the year. I can give an update on that appointment if I remember to find this video and comment again.
2:57 do you know where you got this from and what it’s called??? I spin a triangle ruler like this > 📐 by putting a pen thru the middle and spinning it and it is SO fun but so noisy and that fidget looks like it feels the exact same and sounds so similar to that but quieter
Hey! I got it from the entertainer store in the UK - it’s called a Loopy Looper fidget toy (available online too!) this is the Loopy Lopper Flow model they have a few different styles/ types - hope this helps! (Also that sounds like a great fidget despite it being loud!)
@@21andsensorythanks so much I’ll check them out now!! And yeah it is so much fun 😭 it’s very distracting to other ppl during class tho because the sound of the ruler whacking against the pen is super noisy and I have to spin it really aggressively to keep it going XD but this looks like a great alternative thank you!!!
Correct but by the time this video went live I had already given it away - I set aside a few fidgets to donate after doing the video and realising how many I had!
What are the chewys for your Hoddie from? 15:32 I chew on my Hoddie strings even if I have cewelry on because it has been my go to since I was a child.
Do you have still the same sensory corner or would you like to do an update? You are my favorite autistic person on RU-vid. I have seen all your videos several times :) And I am always interested in updates - if you would like to 💛
Love it! Your videos are always so calming and interesting. Love it much more than all the RU-vidrs who talk too fast and loud. Just a bit sad that you gave the avocado away 😢 But I just love your collection, it is similar to mine
Thank you so much for your kind words! You might like my 21andsensory Podcast if you enjoy me rambling 😅 I know it was epic but I felt someone else would get a lot of joy from it too 🥑 oh awesome that you have a similar fidget collection too :)
@@21andsensory I am just so happy that you replied :) Wish there would be even more Fidget hauls from you 😂 They are my favorites. I always love to see what other autistics like or dislike. Can I find your podcast somewhere else than Spotify? Cause I don't have it. 😬
No worries! Me tooooo I love to see other people’s hauls and collections of fidget toys (although it’s dangerous as it makes you want of buy more haha!) Yes! It’s available across a lot of platforms: plinkhq.com/i/1271503548?to=page
Hello, I have trouble falling asleep bc of my anxiety but just wanna say your vids are really calming and have helped me fall asleep :)) hope you have a lovely day.
Omgg u have the spiky ring too that's cool, I have one and I don't use it much because my friends think its a dog toy and I get embarrassed even tho it's not.
