Now that I've seen this complete version, I take it that the other mostly black & white version was a unfinished rough draft. That explains why there was no title at the beginning and no Screen Gems "S From Hell" logo at the end. Also, that "S" looks almost like the official one owned by Sony. Yours is more like a rounded out "S" while the official 1965 version was made by two parallelograms and a small circle evolving into a letter "S", but close enough. Sadly, the only members still living today are Barbara Eden (Jeannie), Jay North (as Dennis), the actress who played Tabitha (Erin Murphy), Micky Dolenz, Shirley Jones, Susan Dey, Danny Bonaduce, the two actors who played Chris Partridge, and Sally Field.
If a crossover betwixt Bewitched and Jeannie had even been possible, it would have been more likely to have occurred on Bewitched; that show featured various types of supernatural beings over its 8 seasons: elves, leprechauns, a wood nymph, even aliens from out of space! Whilst Jeannie, from what I remember, limited itself to just genies.
It seems Columbia Pictures Television (Screen Gems) had most of the best shows from my childhood. What a great way to salute them (I always liked "Bewitched" and "The Partridge Family"). Thanks for posting this!
I saw two of their gigs on their UK tour where they were so exciting and packed out the clubs. I was 16 and finished with school. Rock N' Roll was truly my salvation! I was spending lots of time in the Marquee club in London to see the great new bands coming mostly out of the US back then like the Black Crowes, the Throbs, etc. There were a couple of years when the alternative bands and the darker, edgier glam/sleaze bands could happily coexist, like the Sea Hags and the Hangmen before the music media insisted on silly labels and putting every band in a box. The Nymphs were as great as early Guns N' Roses, Jane's Addiction, Nirvana. Same feeling as something unique and special. I messaged Inger when myspace was there and she was so kind to reply and I just feel like everything she does is great, like her new album!
Yeah it was a special time in LA at the Scream Club where Janes, Nymphs, GNR, RHCP, The Cult, all shared the stage during the pre- grunge era. Glad you saw them!
I'm Japanese, and when I was a teenager, I watched "Bewitched," "I Dream of Jeannie," "The Monkees," and "The Flying Nun" in real time when they were broadcast in Japan (6 months to a year later than in the US). I still like songs like "The Monkees' Theme" and "Daydream Believer." That was 55 to 60 years ago. 😅
@@tmesa Thank you for your reply. "Bewitched" was rebroadcast until last year. I recorded it all on Blu-ray. I have no connection with Sony, but I appreciate the information.
Okay... there's been Partridge Family and Brady Bunch cartoon shows involving musical performances, so why not one for The Monkees as well? Mickey Dolenz is the only one left of the group still actually performing the group's music--much like Gene Simmons did until recently--and KISS has become a image alone recently... as approved by Gene Simmons, for reasons I can only guess. So... what if Mickey did the same? Who here that's familiar with The Monkees wouldn't enjoy watching a cartoon based upon them? Vote "like" if you think they should. Who knows...? Maybe we can get someone to produce one, even if it's just an adaptation of an existing live-action episode. And it'd still be just as fun to watch--if not more so--seeing their actions become even more animated... like watching a Beatles cartoon--but better!😁
Thanks, I did do a short Monkees cartoon on my channel. I added Gidget and Jeanie to boot! I would love to do a Monkees cartoon. I have the crew and the studio is just down the street.!
A tv show about a teenager living with her professor father. She was highly energetic and dramatic and had a gang of friends who spent a lot of time at the beach surfing. They were always involved in teenage school and beach typical antics. It was good.
Inger felt Alright after she stood on the desk of her A&R man's (Tom Zutaut) desk and pissed on his Rolodex, his phone, the photo of his wife, and everything she could hit... I tip my hat to you Madame...
The houses from Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie were used in BOTH shows. Dr. Bellows lived in Sam and Darrin’s house and on occasion Tony Nelson’s house was on Bewitched.
