This gives me the vibes of the underrated series Love Craft Country by Jordan Peel, supernatural horror set in the Deep South during segregation. Fun fact: Jonathan Majors was meant to play the bother in this movie but his personal issue meant he had to come off this project and he was lead actor in the series Love Craft Country, but Wunmi Mosaku is in this movie and she was also in Love Craft Country too.
You know this movie is good when you read all the major studios bid to make the film just off the script Coogler wrote. Warner Bros won the bidding war and signed a contract that the rights of the movie return to Coogler after 7 or 8 years, no studio signs that kinda deal and rumours are this could be the first of a franchise.
I knew she'd be good as a "La Femme Nikita" type character after that one scene in 'No Time to Die' with James Bond. (Loved the John Wick movies, and the mini series, The Continental.)

One thing i am going to say to you for this is that the main theme of the seasons 2 and 3 is going to be REVENGE and it's effects on people especially in this world. So this is not positive like the first season. It's going to be very dark and gruesome. And it exposes the flaws of humans. If you remember the episodes 4 and 5 of season 1 these were premonitions of the second season and it's theme.
Regarding Schofield he has bored us all with his version of events, in the newspaper and on a TV interview, but the persons who have not spoken out are those that have suffered for his appalling behaviour. We have not heard from Matthew McGreevy, or his wife and colleagues he lied to. Matthew was at a tender age of pre teens, part of the The 2 Faced theatre company (now defunct I believe) of which Schofield and Holly were patrons of. There is a photo on the internet of PS and HW with Matthew when he was 18 but also one of PS with the youth theatre kids and Matthew who was then just 10, whilst no suggestion that there was anything going on then, in my opinion he groomed this innocent lad from a tender age. How he can hold his head up and think we are all going to be complicit in his lies, he is totally deranged. He is morally disgusting and this attempt of worming his way back in to the limelight, is extremely concerning to say the least.
Nadia you hit the nail on the head, these politicians regurgitate certain words to try and brainwash…..say it enough times and they hope it sticks like a long playing record. Their words are hollow, meaningless, non-sounds blah blah just tinny noise. Our government have let their citizens down, so much corruptness and fraud, so many lies I am beyond anger towards them, so many have suffered and will continue to suffer it’s criminal.
They should plan to do four or five seasons, max. Succession only had four seasons, but oh boy, those four seasons had so much going on. It's somewhat reassuring that if there were to be a real life zombie apocalypse, we'd adapter to it after two years and get bored 😄
Consider it a small victory in and of itself, if you avoid spoilers. Shortly before TLOUII came out in 2020 some major plot points got leaked, and those unhappy with the story took it upon themselves to spoil it for as many people as possible.
The first joker was brutal and i can imagine the violence and horror is increased even more in this movie . I had a hunch after watching the trailer it was in no way going to be some nice musical. This movie im sure is crazy.
What an incredible art form film is. Never ceases to amaze me. As a film graduate I am constantly looking for something new and original that will blow me away, having seen tens of thousands of films and series. SO looking forward to this film after this review. Thank you.
