Neil is a percussionist... yes, multiple instruments at once. Same with Geddy. Bass pedals, keyboard and singing at the same time. Or "just" the bass and singing at the same time.

Lol: _"and he's playing the --ucking triangle too"_ 🤣😅 And the xylophone, the Glockenspiel and metallophone, the wood blocks and Temple Blocks, the chimes, the güiro, the cow bells, the tubular bells, the metal garbage can cover... Fun fact: chicks love drummers the most along band's signers (sometimes more), which is why many other bands always tried to dampen their talents if they dared go too much beyond beating a time signature (considered as mere tools for other musicians, rather than a musician by itself/percussionist)... To the point of even get rid of them by using electronic beat-boxes! 😅 e.g. A wood block, a chime, a tubular bell etc., are no longer percussion instruments, nowadays they're keyboard samples.

Keep in mind, Jari (the main vocalist) sings like this with a chunk from one of his lungs missing. The dude is a fucking beast.

Fountain of Lamneth does make sense when you understand what it is. The story of a mans life, from birth to old age. There's no filler on the album, it's actually great if you give it a little time to marinate.

The meaningful lyrics in every song are what set Rush above every other band to me. They made me think.

A Farewell to Kings was the first Rush album that I "got"/understood and therefore loved. I was a brand-new Rush fan when that album came out. I had heard "All the World's a Stage", the live album, before that but it went over my head. I was only 13 and the ferocity of ATWAS was more than my brain was able to connect with. I didn't have a context, as a fan, yet to really get what Rush was at that point. But maybe that album planted a seed that would emerge has a lovely flower in 1977, when AFTK became my favorite album and Rush my favorite band! Then, I saw Rush in concert, in December of '77, and all bets were off! I was completely consumed by the experience -- my first Rock concert, at age 14 -- and my life-long fandom was locked in! So, yeah --- Rush got me and kept me for the rest of forever, from 1977 onward!

I think we will be voted in as rush fan consultants, one of these days lol. Im going to do a rush tribute myself, when I can get the time together, there a special band as I can't tell you, u already know. take care sir, see u in the next comments

The studio version of Xanadu is mindblowing. When they recorded the song, they did a run through to set mic levels. then the first take of the song is what you hear on the album. think about that for a minute. Three of the finest progressive rock musicians to ever grace the stage. RIP, Professor...

Great reaction, Stax! Always good to see you doing some RUSH. I think you should do the album version of Xanadu. A little different than the Exit...Stage Left version. Still great. First time I heard A Farewell to Kings I found it so beautiful how we get that classical guitar intro and then it punches you in the face and never stops until that classical guitar outro. This might be my second favorite RUSH album. It is fantastic

These guys were badass. This was by far my favorite era. 74 to 81. They were young and Geddy sung liked I liked. Later on they changed their style and I didn't like it as much. They just jammed back then

I saw them 6 times during that era, as you say! Late 1974, before FBN was released, about 4 months after Neil joined. They were very raw, blues based, but great even then! Counterparts is a good ablum after the synth infused 80's style! Clockwork Angels album & tour is pretty damn good also!!! I'm just glad there is so much of their live music available, from many decades!

I only saw Iron Maiden 3 times live. 2 in Porto Alegre and 1 at Rock in Rio 3, in the show that resulted in the live album. Incredible to imagine it was 23 years ago... and it was the band reunion, with Dickinson returning to the band after Blaze Bayley

I saw them first time in 2003 and the last time in 2022. In between those years I've seen time 5-6 more times. And every single time I've seen them it's just pure magic. The atmosphere, the crowd, you feel like a part of a whole family. I have all their albums, DVD's and I've seen a lot of documentaries about them. It's like I know them when I see them live. I've never experienced those feelings with any other band. First time I heard them was actually through a PC game (Carmageddon 1) back in 1997 when I was 10 years old. I got hooked right away and wanted to know and hear more about them. When I was 14 a couple of my friends were playing in a coverband where they were playing Judas Priest and Iron Maiden covers. When I saw my friends live for the first time playing The Trooper I was like: "I also wanna play like that and learn all those things that they're playing. I wanna learn Iron Maiden's music! If my friends can play Iron Maiden, why wouldn't I be able to?" So as soon as I got home I picked up my dad's old nylon stringed guitar and started to try and play. And now 27 years later I still play and learn new things on the guitar almost every day. Iron Maiden is the reason I'm playing guitar today and it feels like I owe them everything. Up The Irons! ❤

This was filmed at NEX_FEST in Japan late in 2023. Although Kingslayer came out in 2020, it took until this event for them to manage to all be on the same stage together to perform it, so it was a special occasion and it clearly meant a lot to all of them. Since then, they've performed it a few more times at festivals and other events. I got to see them perform this live in Kuala Lumpur about two weeks ago. It absolutely went off live.

👑 🗡 This performance was from NEX_FES, a festival put on by Bring Me the Horizon. It was held in Hyogo, Japan on October 31st, in Aichi on November 1st, and in Tokyo November 3rd & November 4th. BABYMETAL were a featured artist, and performed a set earlier each evening. Of course everyone was hoping they would come back out and join BMTH during their set for 'Kingslayer'. : )

Nice one. No I don't think it was on Instragram live, that was the video editor just making it look that way (pretty sure I'm right, happy to be corrected if not). This song was on the cards for a long time before they finally recorded it in 2020. They had often spoken of wanting to collaborate ever since they first met in 2015 in the UK and Oli Sykes took it on himself to make sure they felt welcomed and comfortable. They have been good friends since and BABYMETAL invited BMTH to tour in Japan with them in 2019. You probably saw for yourself how much fun they were all having finally being able to perform together 3 years after the song was released. They did this at all 4 NEX_FEST events around the start of November last year where this video was filmed, but they have managed to play together at other festivals since this - last time was not very long ago and they all had even more fun.

Nice reaction! Highest energy, isn´t it? A banger. You should watch a fancam edition of the "Kingslayer" choreography. With the "live" video you watched you only got a glimpse on the sensational choreography BABYMETAL contributed to this song.
