It’s even less value now that the same boxset is being used for Spearhead. What’s always amazed me about AOS / 40K fans is how they say “that boxset is great value because it’s $50 off” but they never stop to think their plastic sprue was very overpriced to begin with. It’s a great marketing trick by GW.
GW did the impossible with orcs in warhammer: They made orcs that I will actually buy and covet. If you play Warcry (and if you have an army in AOS, the question becomes "why dont you play warcry?") then the aesthetic fits extremely well into the 1st ed setting taking place in the hellscape of the Bloodwind Spoil/Eightpoints. It was like the Kruleboyz were made for Warcry, not just because of how great they play, but also because you need so few models and each model is a unique masterpiece on the table. That Dominion set, is the best Warcry starter set they ever made just because of all the options it gives you for two warbands. S+ tier Warcry content all the way. They even made a really compelling campaign to use this set in Warcry. And that saying a lot because the OG Warcry starter is one of the best deals GW have had for a complete compelling game inside of one box purchase.
It's funny I'm doing 2 knight titans in the extreme sub assembly you where talking about, I think the most parts togather at one time are maybe 5 parts at the most
Hey man, I respect your hobby philosophy, I'm exactly the same. However I'd state at the start of the video if you have actually used the products your reviewing though, otherwise you can't really review it
I was watching this video and thought that these minis looked great and maybe I could get a Vanguard box and some extra minis to try this faction... Approximately 1/3 of the range appears as 'temporarily not available ' So basically right now and for the foreseeable future, if you get this box and then want to expand the army, you would not be able to, and you'll be stuck with basically a really fancy 140€ paperweight.
I understand WHY Stormcast Eternals is on this list but are they really the only army of Order that is easy to pick up? I dont care who the IRS sends im not paying taxes
Funny how I was struggling with the ears so I searched goregrunta assembly and this was the first result. Good to know I'm not the only one having a hard time lmao
video is great, i got the expensive vice thing, I have to admit I like it but when I see some online painters using 5/6 of them I have to remember they probably got them for free at a GW event! what can I say.. cheaper options is the way to go
Kruelboyz with dominion+ starter set half's runs you £67 and gets you 890 points. Leaving you with 110 points to play with or more if you remove a set of hobgrots. Honestly might do that but I doubt it's going win at all in actual games. This only works if you have a friend to split the box with or you could try and sell the other half.
Thank you for such an informative video! I just recently got into the hobby and I found all the info in your vid to be really helpful, especially with some of the vocabulary surrounding the game! Cheers, friend!
You didn't cover the Sorrowmourn Choir box with Lady Olynder, 8 Myrmourn banshees and 10 dreadscythe harridans. I recommend anyone interested in starting an army to look at local stores for deals. I found the Sorrowmourn Choir box for 70 euros.
I want to know why, after building the first one without this part, all of the sudden the other 2 have to be like this! They had it right the first time! Pain the Waaagh!
Great video, as someone who doesn’t know a ton about the game this was really helpful to understand some of the basics of the factions and good starting points
I also wanted to assemble an army of Kruleboyz, starting with the Dominion box, but the crisis broke out, and I only had enough money for a smallest starter set. But nevertheless I have one Kruleboyz unit now.
Got the Army box (still available online for $170) and Vanguard box (sold the chariot). Then completed just under 2k (1960) with a Chaos Sorcerer on Manticore, a box of Varanguard, and a single Endless Spell.
Maybe if I pick up 40k some day (I have been tempted by the newer models and the lore) but for now I'm planning to continue to focus on AoS (and to a lesser degree AoS spin offs)--currently I only have the time for one game unfortunately (and still a lot of grey orcs in my pile of shame haha)
