So strange to watch this after having it pop up in my feed, and knowing how Simone and Denis Urubko now dislike each other so much.... So much respect and sentiment afforded to Denis in this interview by Simone, but it rings so hollow after knowing what Urubko did to his expedition teammates on the K2 winter ascent attempt - super climber, but he's kind of a reckless, self centered douche.
@@francoborroni1306 anche qua a commentare Moro? tu sei un fissato..btw he's not a clown, my fellow italian mate is having fun shitting on Moro's (rightfully earned) fame. He's commenting every video about him in the same way. Moro is a real mountain hero. Don't trust this fucking troll.
With all my great respect to Simone Moro, he is the second person to summit three 8000-meter peaks. Jerzy Kukuczka definitelly was the first one, completing, exactly four summits in winter: Dhaulagiri, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga and Annapurna (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerzy_Kukuczka).
Actually Simone Moro (who is well aware of Kukuczka's outstanding achievements) claims to be the first man to have done three 8000ers ENTIRELY in winter season (it means, starting the expedition after december the 21st). In fact, Kukuczka has often done his 8000ers in winter starting the climb in november, as it is possible to read in his book "My vertical world"...
Yes it's outstanding! But is also true that in that season: - he wasn't really the first to climb one of the two 8000ers (he did it the day after of the first ascenders) - he joined an expedition that had already covered without his help most of the path. That said, is still an unique achievement in alpinism: and in fact Kukuczka is (probably) the greatest alpinist in history
