Lovely, Simple skirt - then I see this faux-Celtic dress, completely diminishes what otherwise is lovely performance. Sorry, I am on a bit of a crusade against this merchandizing, profiteering...hugely distracts from the dance and the long years of work. Of course, these atrocious expensive costumes exclude many families who are not rich.
Oh my goodness. I had no idea. If I was given a shed load of time to guess what you did in your spare time Silvia, I still wouldn't have come close, and that's with knowing you had a connection with Ireland.
I have competed as an adult Irish Step Dancer in my 50's in New Jersey and Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2017. I have always worn a kilt as a dancer. Also, I have taken Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Fusion Contemporary dance classes along with my Irish Step to learn different styles.. Moreover, I have enjoyed learning the flow arts with the hula hoop, poi, levi wand, and baton apparatuses. The kilt is so important in dance fashion.
Would never' go back to see the parade ever . Whoever took that video must have been up a ladder or had a phone on a stick. Most of the route was lined with screens so you couldn't see the parade. Who ever came up with that idea?????. Travelled a long distance to see it but never again. Thousands of visitors were walking aroung lost looking for somewhere to view the parade with no success. We were told some people on O'Connel street had paid to get a view of the parade where there were no screens.
Believe it or not, I was holding my phone with my hand :D I agree though, the organization of the whole event was not too good. Apparently you could pay for a wristband to get access to the upper O'Connell St area. This was recorded just below O'Connell, in Westmoreland St.
I like your video. You two dancers make a very nice couple together. Tony looks nice in a his kilt uniform. I hope. Someday you two people become husband and wife.
Have you ever competed in Irish dance? Because first, I was talking about turnout not cross over, those are two different things. Second, having a more pronounced turnout is more pleasing to the eye...ie it looks better. I don't see the need to comment rudely when I was merely stating my opinion.
