Does this tractor not have an impulse starter on the magneto? My 1928 does.

Awesome tractor & great presentation. Just a note: you should never start a tractor without being in the operators seat and at the controls.

Don't close the prime cups while starting,much safer with them open and easier to start. Just be careful when startthese tractors. Very impressed to see these young people starting and running these machines.

My father remembers the original owner plowing with this tractor as well as threshing in the neighborhood south of Butterfield! It looked awesome at the Bee in Butterfield as well.

Nice job! The investment in a social media specialist is paying off! Is this one consistently tough to start? The oiler cover looks custom; why was it needed?
@leejsackettincrestoration
@leejsackettincrestoration Год назад
We are still dialing in the starting process as this is a relatively fresh restoration. Over the past couple days it has gotten easier to start because we have been refining the process. The oiler originally had a glass cover and this is an appropriate reproduction. There were a few different styles of covers (sight glass), so you might be familiar with one of the other styles.

My dad taught me to pull up on the crank with cupped hand and don't wrap your thumb around the crank. When that engine kicks, it may break you wrist or hand.

Great the way he winds it up like a clockwork toy. Do it once without checking the ignition timing which he did for clarity. You will most probably need the services of the nearest hospital.

Yep, a good way to break a thumb or worse.
@ironcladranchandforge7292

Not only that, the best way to start this tractor is to close the choke, ignition OFF, then crank the handle a couple times to prime the engine with fuel. Then open the choke, ignition ON, then crank and it should start right up. Of course checking the ignition timing first before anything.
