Turned it forwards and lost atleast half my bass. It sucked as always. Maybe if it was perfectly sealed but it still wont be as good as rear or side port. The difference is loading and cabin length
@@AudioEuphoria080 better off with side port in a trunk build unless you seal off with subs facing the front. Your electrical is not good enough for 2 V2s, theyll handle 2k a piece no problem
Whats it sound like tho? Usually when you make a ported box big like that it creates a huuuge peak around the tuning frequency and only really sounds good within a few Hz of the Fb Id imagine its kind dof one hit wondery?
@@AudioEuphoria080 Fb definitely has an affect on frequency response or there would be no difference tuning to 30hz vs 60hz. The reason you're peaking so high is probably because of cabin gain. If you were in a larger vehicle youd be peaking much lower and itd be a lot louder
What's your electrical from the hood to the trunk? And what are you running for power under your hood is it a battery delete and what power source you have in your trunk? Are you lithium or nah
Theres no notable difference in sound between plywood and mdf even in full range applications. Particle board would rip apart in an spl application and you can wood work with it
@@AudioEuphoria080 I think more than any other, THIS one is the myth that annoys me the most, because it's based on zero science, some random guy said that shit decades ago and now every retard firmly believes that you can only build sub boxes out of MDF. Watch Steve Meade, and many others, build their competition vehicles, there's videos on youtube, what material are they primarily using? Plywood, not MDF, for a couple reasons, but key among which being resonance, MDF resonates much less than plywood, and some of you idiots think that's a good thing. Did any of you ever stop and think about it? What's the purpose of the box? To amplify the rear wave of the sub, right? And you're trying to dampen all possible sound the box could make? Have you ever held an acoustic guitar? Notice how it's all hollow and super light, but still creates a crazy amount of sound and projects it? Now take a piece of dynamat and stick it to the back of the guitar and tell me if it sounds anywhere close to as loud, or as good as it did before. The box itself is an instrument, treat it as such.
Holy shit this is INSANE for 300 watts!!! I've got two 12" Kicker L7Rs in a sealed box at 2 ohms on a Stinger MT2000.1 (1500W RMS) and it barely moves my hair. To be fair my box is pretty small for my subs (1.16 cubic ft per woofer). Kicker recommends a max of 2 cubic ft for my woofers sealed, so I'm gonna try another box i found that is 1.45 cubic ft per woofer. Your build really has me impressed!! Great job!
@AudioEuphoria080 i do prefer the sound from sealed boxes though. If it ends up not being enough for me, I'll upgrade to two 15s and give the 12s to my brother for his car.
I got the car with aftermarket head unit + amplifier and speakers so im not sure if anything was done with that. I would assume based off other cars ive seen worked on that the anc module was bypassed
😢 omg I ain't going to kill myself if I see another one of you under 1000w guys move wind and flex a car 😭. And to top it all of you guys are doing it with 1 sub and a tiny trunk space 🤔. I don't get it. I'm running like 20k of Amp power and still don't move that kind off wind 😩 I give up. What is you guys secret? I'm running two dd 4k amps strapped and 4 more highs and mid amps all one brand digital design subs are two 9912 digital design super charged in a 4th order. Can somebody please tell me what am I doing wrong? I move a little bit of wind and is currently at a 147 bd
Ive had 2 12s on 4k in my previous car and i did a 144 so with you being 3db louder on double the power is borderline equally as efficient. Tho that build was kinda windy, i was able to move hair just a little. But ill say its because i was using a low tuned box
Things banging! Sounds nice.. Have you tried to turn the sub around and seal it off to the cabin. You will have no trunk rattle and as long as it's sealed off it should be louder. Just a suggestion.
@@AudioEuphoria080 "If you're not loud"........Though I own a lot of gear I don't gravitate towards super loud systems. I have some sundown Audio and DC Audio gear and some SQ or SQL gear as well. So as far as it being loud enough that wouldn't be an issue with me per se as I don't build systems built around bass, specifically because it is on a part of the music. A small part at that but definitely an important part. I was specifically pointing to the fact that something was vibrating like crazy. Only you would know what it is since the system has been sound deadened as you say.
@@iTzBrusswhat kind of box you have. It all comes down to the efficiency of the box. He has his blowing out the back trunk. Not really efficient. But does make good for sq
I have two sa v2s and I just hit 143.3 on the meter today at 35hz and 1865watts from a wolfram 3k I’m gonna get lithium cells 64 for now will give me 5000w worth of power and then a big three and hopefully a new radio deck I can’t take my stock one out or I can’t start my car 🤣
If my ears serve me correctly that is bottoming out.... aka the coil is slapping against the backplate. I would pull it back a tad or your box porting isn't optimal for this sub.
Yep it was right at the point of bottoming out, it was soft but still not good but was intentional. The box is perfect for the sub, i designed and built it myself but it wasnt designed to play 20hz which is what this was playing. Mearly for a demonstration oh how much the e series subwoofers from sundown can move. Thanks for watching
@@AudioEuphoria080 Fair enough and you seem to be educated on the topic so ill leave it to that but yes that is quite impressive for this caliber of sub to even slap that good at 20hz!
@@AudioEuphoria080 Not to mention love the D4S amps that look like the old US amps from back in the day. I thought about slapping two of those newer small amp the "MM1004" compact and plenty of power for me these days. Way different from back in the 90's when I was running car audio lol
@Lemonhead8890 yessir this setup was actually my moms setup that i installed for her and it does bump well for its size. The d4s amps are killer price to performance, its hard to compete with.
@Lemonhead8890 if you look through my other shorts videos you can see this same sub and box in a different vehicle on alot more power, more specifically a synergy 45.1 and the sub was eating up atleast 1000 watts.
I got two BAMF 12s, underpowered af at 2000 watts, that hit harder and they are on stock electrical. I gotta get the 8000 watt amp for it but then it will slam. They make my whole door move
I got 2 SA v2 12s in a 5cu.ft. maybe tuned around 26-29, Cant really tell. Anyways, mine don't hit anywhere as hard as these. Ive had mine for about 6 months now. Full 0 gauge 270a alt running with a D4S JP23. I clip around 2000W so Im running more power than you. Got any secrets 😅.
@@AudioEuphoria080 Yeah I sound deadened the trunk and doors. Im thinking about getting another amp, just not sure if I got the money right now. Your system is nice, im jealous 🫡
@@AudioEuphoria080 Not entirly sure what you mean, but I have a stock battery that came with the car, ik lol. It sits at mid 13 volts, Lowest Ive ever seen it drop during a burp was high 12, less than a 1v drop. I can get back to you tomorrow with real number, cant remember off the top of my head. Im stuck between xspower d3400 battery, or a JP33 3300W amp, or even building a new box, a slightly smaller box at a higher tuning freq, money is tight rn so I'm just trying to save.
Run three batteies from the amps power and ground all together the fedd your amps off that battery bank you wont habe any issues at all even with 4guage
@David-wg5ce not with three marine batteries on stock although yeah you will haft to let it warm up charge the bank but after that you got like an hour of run time on the way to work
Your clipping is from liw voltage add three marine batteries to the trunk powered off your stock electrical you wont have any issues anymore dont listen to anyone who tells you differently
