It is the idea that we human beings have a part to play in bringing God's community of love into being, which is why Jesus made so many demands of his followers (in keeping with the prophetic Jewish tradition from which he emerged). Even if we understand God to be the ultimate creator, we must make love, compassion, justice, kindness, generosity, and hospitality manifest in our own lives - when we do so, we co-create the kin-dom, or community, of God.

Thanks! The Synod choir version is very cool and if I receive permission to make that public, I will do so. For now, though, this version is available for use. I'm working on getting a good score made.
It is a challenge to find or create music that I feel matches the sensibilities of our UU congregation and my own. Your music fits that requirement quite well. It does make me uncomfortable including references to anything but god within us. Probably due to my more humanist outlook on life.

If you post comments here that value unrestricted gun freedoms more than human lives, I will remove them. This is a mourning song for people who have died from gun violence. That is the point of this song. You do not have to listen to or like the song. But please do not use it to make comments about how much more important unrestricted gun rights are than human lives.
