Did it quite a few times in good snow conditions. Must have had much more snow as the tunnel was a headfirst belly crawl pushing skis ahead. Terrifying! I was a good skier then but it was really hard, especially getting past others. Mr Bell, so smooth as befits a World Cup standard skier!
That was one of the best ski videos I've ever seen. It's incredible how smoothly he went down that icy, bumpy trail like he was floating. And passing those people, throwing his skis down the walking part. So cool. I love it.
We forget that Mr Bell is a damn good skier. Most of us watching this are recreational skiers and unable to ski this in a single run, provide commentary and have any degree of panache. Mr Bell has it all. Thumbs up from me!
Thanks for the memories! I rode that down in my youth which must have been over 40 years ago. Back then I didn't have to remove my skies - or at least I don't remember that. Don't know if I would be able now to ride this due to lack of strength and stamina.
No interest in skiing and no idea why The Algorithm brought me here, but that was fun to watch. I remember Graham from watching _Ski Sunday_ and the Olympics as a kid.
Impressive, must be quite cool when you pass advanced skiers (who think they are pretty handy), until they are passed by an Olympic skier ! What type of ski were you one - width & length(relative to your height) please ?Thanks
Gosh I remember skiing that back in the 90's when I was last in Val. It was a slightly different proposition with one's 200cm K2 Extremes rather than today 160s Thanks for the memories @GrahamBellSki
I did it 43 years ago with locals and very good skiers friends from Val d'Isère who knew the run very well. There was more snow at that time, it was easier and we did not do it at Graham's speed which is quite impressive in some spots
Alas! I noticed I ski on the same skis he has , even the color and binding is the same model I ski on. But..... that's about the only comparison I can make...I wanna cry....
If you want to see this done full speed with jumps and some erratic bird signals and no skis being taken off watch the go pro line of the winter version, This one ------------->ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UYmcm5bKvxk.html&ab_channel=GoProWorld
My mate slipped and kneed me in my back whilst we boarded this a while back. His knee protectors broke 3 of my ribs. Still managed to board the whole thing and loved it. Gets icy though! Also found myself in a bubble with graham the same week. He was telling his clients his ski gear still covered in Champagne from the Apres the day before!
