I am a geologist with a Master's degree in geology and have worked for ten years on oil and gas drilling rigs as wellsite Geologist. Recently, I have been working on data science and data analysis, and I am well-versed in Python. However, I can't find a connection between these two fields as Mrs. Alice Heesacker mentioned in her video. I am proficient in SQL Server and Python and have worked on many projects. The only thing I understand is that you can only analyze and clean data and use Python to extract data created with SQL to implement new designs. If you review the Petrel software, all these aspects are used in a very advanced manner, and data is utilized excellently. If there are any other points, please let me know; perhaps there is indeed a connection that I am not aware of.
What a great video and I really appreciate the Alice insights. I am a Geoscientist myself (Geophysicist/Petrophysicist) and I am glad I encountered this truthful and sincere opinion and real-life experiences from someone coming from the same industry, sharing her doubts, challenges and how she overcame these obstacles.
