An enjoyable account of metal detecting and mudlarking trips. Most of our finds are just under the surface. 2 hobbies that bring you right back to your childhood at very little financial cost.
Hi Matt, it’s nice to see you still spend time fossicking with Helena. And you’re so lucky you have somewhere nearby where you can seek fossils and shark teeth! Wow! In Australia we call mosquitoes, Mozzies! Funny how language evolves in different countries. Keep fossicking. We love to warehouse!❤
Hello Matt from your neighbor in Delaware! The finds never end! The creek must be your "spot" for shark's teeth. You'll get that Megalodon tooth, keep looking. Hope you had a great 4th of July.
Hi 👋🏻 Matt, It’s so wonderful to see you with your beautiful daughter. I really enjoyed seeing you both find sharks teeth. Time out with our children while they are young is so precious. It sure makes a difference for them also! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
😂😂 "I hear HUMANS"... I CAN sooo identify with the feeling behind your tone of voice! 😱😁 I say the exact same or at least similar when I'm out in the deep woods with my dog, searching for mushrooms, (eatable... 🤪 Don't even know what "the other ones" look like and to old now to find out) berries and such. Don't know how many times I've just darted behind a tree, keeping my dog quiet and we'll watch whatever human/s walking/stomping by. Been doing that since I was a kid and my son, now 40 yrs. old, still does it too. I guess he's taken after me, since we'd make a game out of it when he was a kid. Daughters have never really been interested in roughing it through the woods but, he was my little shadow. His nickname when he was a kid was "Shadow". I'll still call him that every now and then and it always seems to bring a smile to his face and eyes. Sheesh! I miss those days. Enjoy your children as long as you can. They grow up way to fast. ❤ *edit* Oh, thanks for bringing me along. I have to admit, even if I did love your finds. I really loved the interaction between you and your daughter, the nature scenes and forest/creek sounds. Watched your upload twice. Second time just closing my eyes when you both were walking through the creek. Loved it!!
Sometimes the subtleties can have great meanings, glad you caught on, lol. I’m very lucky that my kids for now are still interested in roughing it with me out in our tiny sections of the wild. It is my little escape. Makes a big difference when I can read how people enjoy these videos when it’s also something I enjoy doing. I’m grateful. Thanks my friend.
Good morning Matt. Amazing to see the things you and your brother find in the water. How neat to find the sharks tooth there. Looks like a fun time trying to find some. Happy weekend. 🌺🌴
Do you realise that every Brit hearing you talking about a Fanny Pack’ spat their tea out and/and or fell about laughing?!!! 😂 Fanny has a different definition across the pond….
Oh my goodness, someone else remembers the Mr. Magoo "A Christmas Carol!" "A candle in a jar..." "Full of Razzleberry Dressing!" The Lord's bright blessing to you and yours!
Hello from the old dude . That was a fun video. There’s those bright legs again at least you don’t have knobby knees like I do. Stay safe say hi to your family for me.
Goood morning Matt! I absolutely loved this week’s video! My focus was on the beautiful scenery you and Paul surround yourselves with weekly. How blessed to have a passion that brings you outdoor with such happiness and reward from Under the Surface! THEN enters Helene (sp?)! Nothing tops the special time we spend with our children! I’m sure you two have been treasure hunting since she was a young girl! So special! Stay well out there!~Karin
Thanks Karin, and good morning!, glad you enjoyed the video, great memories for me caught in film. Yes, Helena, still likes to hang with the corky old man, I’m grateful
Hi Matt 👋 That trip you & your daughter took to find shark teeth looked so cool. All I could think of is “I’d get bitten up head to toe!” I hope you both had on a lot of your homemade skeeter repellent! I can just go from the house to the car (or vice versa) and get bitten all over! 😩 Hope your 4th was fun. Have a great week and see ya next Saturday 🫡 Your friends from Nawth Jersey, Carolyn and Tom
@@underthesurface4435 I witch two ladies with a you tube channel called Northern mudlarking that are great too. Take a look if haven't already I think you will enjoy it.
Good EVENING Matt! Wonderful finds this week and the weather was favorable!! Today was the best for treasure searching from Under the Surface! Congratulations to your marble winner! Should I spy a new skull container in the thrift stores I’ll give a shout out!!! A very late Happy Father’s Day to you and your dear dad! Stay well out there! ~Karin
I love the red and green buttons, the shoe charm and the black and gold bead, which might have been a ladies dress button with the loop shank snapped off.
Hello from your neighbor in Delaware! Mystery finds this week, well done. I believe the white object you picked up at around the 11:00 mark is 4 white buttons fused together. That's what they look like, anyway. 🧐 What do you do with the lead you find? Make them into bullets maybe? 😂 Be safe up there, it's been cooking here in DE. Don't forget the sunscreen!
Great advice!, always use the sunscreen!, those strange white things oddly disintegrated, weird. The lead fishing weights I hold on to thinking one day I’ll get around to sell them to fisherpeople. The other lead I scrap.
