Best Camo Paint Job I´ve seen so far. I think about to do that with my Savage AR15 - but maybe without dismounting the barrel etc. I just want to tape the gaps, dust cover etc. How is your expierence about how long the paint is lasting - do you have to repaint after some months of fireing? Kind regards from Germany
Everybody else starts with khaki base and they have to do a lot more blending to get a decent end result. The natural materials used as stencils are the opposite of how normal stencils work and would have an inverse color. If you understand what I mean. I'm about to paint my 2 hunting bows and will start with a base that more resembles the dominant colors of vegetation during fall/winter hunting season and then come in with lighter/darker colors for depth. Makes more sense to me. Good job on thinking outside the box, we need more of that. Nice results.
Thanks for sharing. Just a heads up. My carelessness resulted in a major mistake in this video at the -8:05 frame. When I put the barrel clamp on and tightened the stud or screw that holds barrel clamp down, I cross threaded the receiver. When the receiver is cross threaded (not the bolt), the firearm is toast. I actually was able to order a new replacement bolt only to find out the receiver was cross threaded not the bolt. Now I have a savage 64 spare part rifle.
Appreciate the video! Recently bought the tactical folder stock and the charging handle. Didn’t like the look of the instal on the mag release so decided to save myself the trouble. Stock isn’t here yet but starting to think I made a mistake buying the charging handle. If you have to shave down the OG stock, can’t imagine the after market one is any better for the charging handle.
Best i have seen so far ! Nice ! Will have to try this one ! Been looking for something worth trying . Hows it holding up ? Have you put tried a clear coat to toughen your work ?
Thankyou for this video, I just got my new savage model 64 today and also received my dip inc extended charging handle and extended magazine release. This video made it super easy to change them over. I didn't have to shave any of the stock for my charging handle to work but I got a different one they had on the site so that might be why. I know this video is old but I'm new to the savage 64 and your video. Great video keep up the good work
Awesome job! If at 9:40, you had painted with earth brown instead forest green, your rifle would be more like multicam, right? Thinking of using khaki and earth brown on mine. Tks!
Does anyone know what he uses for the Brown pattern at the end? Does he just use the leaf again like he did for the khaki? It's not clear at the end...
